~WO ROLL TOILET TISSUE DISPENSER
This invention relates generally to dispensers and holders of roll toilet tissue, and more particularly to a two roll toilet tissue holder and dispenser.
A large number of patented devices are known to applicant which hold more than one roll of toilet tissue as follows:
U.S. Patent No. 5,000,393 Madsen U.S. Patent No. 4,564,148 Wentworth U.S. Patent No. 4,389,026 Willa, et al U.S. Patent No. 4,108,389 Womack U.S. Patent No. 4,662,577 Lewis U.S. Patent No. 4,199,078 Ramierz U.S. Patent No. 3,295,777 Carroll U.S. Patent No. 3,266,742 Pena U.S. Patent No. 3,130,932 Pena U.S. Patent No. 4,697,754 Duff U.S. Patent No. 4,135,678 Williams U.S. Patent No. 4,098,469 McCarthy U.S. Patent No. 5,009,313 Morand U.S. Patent No. 4,407,459 Wormly U.S. Patent No. 3,656,699 Schnyder et al.
U.S. Patent No. 3,738,721 Maschek et al.
U.S. Patent No. 3,771,739 Nelson U.S. Patent No. 4,427,159 Miller et al.
U.S. Patent No. 4,836,462 Bruss U.S. Patent No. 3,475,067 Girard U.S. Patent No. 3,295,900 Kendall However, none of the above patented devices provide access to more than one rollof toilet tissue at a time. That is to say that these above-rererenced devices, while holding more than one roll of toilet tissue, only provide access to one roll of tissue at a time until it is empty.
A spare toilet tissue holder invented by Neddle as ~isol~sed in U.S. Patent 5,012,986 teaches a holder for a spare toilet tissue roll comprising a C-shaped bar, one leg CA 02239~26 1998-06-01 of which inserts into the central tubular section of a roll of toilet tissue which is supported in a conventional toilet tissue holder. The lower leg of this device supports a second roll of toilet tissue either for storage or for use as desired.
Another pdlented device invented by Tucker as ~~isclosed in U.S. Patent 3184176 also teaches a dual toilet tissue dispenser which holds two rolls of toilet paper in coaxial side-by-side alignment each of which is fully viewable and fully ~ccessi~'e for use as desired.
The present invention provides a two roll toilet tissue holder and dispenser which holds two rolls of toilet tissue in fully ~ccesci' le and viewable position in vertical aliy"",e"l one to anoll,er the axes of which are holi,o,ltal and spaced vertically. A pan-shaped member partially encloses each of the toilet tissue rolls while a perimeter frame similar in shape to a shadow box provides a finished appearance when both cor"ponents are mounted together against an upright surface.
This invention is directed to a two roll toilet tissue dispenser for holding two rolls of toilet tissue about vertically sp~ced I ,ori, ontal axes. Each tissue roll is in full view and fully exposed and ~ccessi' le for use. The dispenser has two main components an elongated somewhat pan-shaped member having a rectangular perimeter mounting flange and two vertically sp~ced pairs of toilet tissue rod supports which depenclenlly extend forwardly from upright side portions of the mounting flange. The pan-shaped member fits in close aliy"",enl into a rectangular opening of a peri",eter frame. The perimeter frame provides a rinished appearance which may be mounted directly against an upright surface without the need for making any large holes therein.
It is therefore an object of this invention to provide a two roll toilet tissue holder which presents both rolls of toilet tissue viewably ready and fully ~cessi' le for use.
It is another object of this invention to provide a two roll toilet tissue dispenser which is mountable against an upright surface without the need for making access holes other than for mounting screws.
It is yet a"ull,er object of this invention to provide a two roll toilet tissue dispenser having a generally pan-shaped member with a mounting flange which may be utilized by itself by being mounted either to an upright surface or into an aperture prepared into such an upright surface for flush mounting.

Figure 10 is a left front perspective view of only the pan-shaped member mountedinto a mating hole prepared into a wall.
Referlil~g now to the drawings, the invention is shown generally at numeral 10 and includes a pan-shaped member 12 and a rectangular open perimeter frame 14 each formed of in;ection molded plastic. The pan-shaped member 12 includes a rearwardly offset dish or concave-shaped central portion 16 which extends rearward from a rectangular perimeter mounting flange 18 which is planar and outwardly extending as shown.
The pan-shaped member 12 also includes two pairs of forwardly extending opposing rod supports shown typically at 20 each having a cavity or aperture 22 formed adjacenl a distal end thereof. Each of the pairs of rod supports 20 define a ho,i~onlal mounting axis C and D about which an elongated tissue roll support rod E shown in pl,anton, in Figure 3 will supportively engage within a roll of toilet tissue A also shown in phanlom in Figures 3, 4, 5 and in Figure 9. The hori~o,llal axes C and D of each pair of rod supports 20 are vertically sp~ced apart as best seen in Figure 3 so as to support each roll of tissue A in verlically aligned hori~Gnlally oriented relationship in full ~Gcessihle view ready for use. The axes C and D are forwardly sp~Ged from mounting flange 18 and the central dish-shaped portion 16 so as to provide clearance between a full roll of tissue CA 02239~26 1998-06-01 paper A and the central portion 16 of the pan-shaped member 12, even when "jumbo"
sized rolls are used.
To maintain each elongated support rod E within apertures 22, plastic caps 24 may be provided which snapably engage into the apertures 22 from the direction shown.
The open perimeter frame 14 includes rectangular side walls 28 which are generally orthogonally oriented to a flat back surface 29. A rectangular opening 32 is defined by an inwardly extending flange 30, the opening 32 sized to snugly receive the central portion 16 as best seen in section view in Figures 7 and 8.
When the two injection molded plastic compo, lents 12 and 14 are assembled together, conventional threaded raslene,~ may be utilized to secure this allangen, ent against a vertical or upright surface by engagement through holes 26 formed into the central portion 16. As best seen in Figures 7 and 8, a clear~nce or offset is provided between the back surface of central portion 16 and the flat mounting back surface 29 so that, when screws are tightened into apertures 26, the entire ar,angement is resiliently and biasingly de~n"ed to maintain this relationship.
The pan-shaped member 12 as shown in Figure 10 may be used alone by either mounting the back surface of the central portion 16 directly against an upright surface or into a rectangular hole as shown formed into the upright surface W having a size and shape similar to opening 30 of the perimeter frame 14 with the mounting flange 18 positioned directly against the upright surface W. A generally U-shaped bracket C having an elongated central portion D and shorter legs E is posilioned behind the upright surface W so as to threadably receive screws 36 through apertures 26 and be forcibly andretainingly engaged by leg edge surfaces F against the inner concealed wall surface.
While the instant invention has been shown and des~il.ed herein in what are conceived to be the most practical and prere"~d embodiments, it is recognized that departures may be made therefrom within the scope of the invention, which is therefore not to be limited to the details ~~isclosed herein, but is to be afforded the full scope of the claims so as to embrace any and all equivalent apparalus and articles.
