Abstract
As a coating element, in particular for sheet panels in vehicles, a single-piece hollow profile (1) obtained by a blowing process and designed to be replaceably mounted on the sheet panel (2) is disclosed. The hollow profile has securing elements (3) on its rearface, recesses for them being provided in said sheet panel, as well as an arrangement of profile batches on its length.
The securing elements may be inserted into the hollow space, which is filled with foam. The inventive device ensures, especially after filling the hollow space with foam, adequate energy absorption so that any impact causes in principle no distortion of the hollow profile.
The securing elements may be inserted into the hollow space, which is filled with foam. The inventive device ensures, especially after filling the hollow space with foam, adequate energy absorption so that any impact causes in principle no distortion of the hollow profile.
