Abstract
This invention relates to a glove or finger attached apparatus for wiping snow, sleet and/or rain from goggles and/or eye-shields to restore visibility.
Description
This invention relates to a glove (or finger) attached device for wiping ski, snowboard, snowmobile, motorcycle or other goggles and eye-shields.
On wet or snowy days goggles invariably get obstructed with rain or snow. In the past people have used a paper tissue or a piece of cloth to clean their goggles or eye-shields to restore visibility. This can be highly unprac;tical when one is in motion as it demands the user to stop, remove the device, wipe the goggles or eye-shields and replace it or otherwise hold it in an already encumbered hand (i.e. Ski pole, handlebar etc.). .
There are devices on the market which wipe: goggles but are not easily accessible or interfere with ski pole straps and grips.
The goggle wiper I am proposing would be affixed to the index finger of a gloved hand and make goggle (or eye-shield) wiping simple with an easy back-hand motion.
Thus leaving hands free to perform their intended task (i.e. skiing, snowmobiling , etc.).
Whistler, B.C. Wednesday, May 06, 1998 In drawings, which illustrate embodiments of the invention:
Figure 1, represents an end-view of the rubber wiping blade used in the "See Wipe"
apparatus for wiping goggles and/or eye-shields.
Figure 2, represents a side-view of the wiping blade.
Figure 3, represents a top-view of the "See Wipe" apparatus for wiping goggles and/or eye-shields.
Figure 4, represents the apparatus in position on a ski glove.
Note: dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly (by up to + or - 3mm).
The apparatus (Fig.3,4) would be attached to a finger (or gloved or miffed finger) and provide an unobtrusive and easily used goggle and/or eye-shield wiper. The user would simply have to raise the back of his hand to his goggle and/or eye-shields and wipe the lens clean in a back-hand sweeping motion.
The apparatus comprises a 43 mm long by 20 mm high by 19 mm wide rubber wiping blade (Fig. 1,2). The rubber blade has an 11 mm long by 2.5 mm wide slot into which a 150 mm long Velcro band is inserted (Fig.3)

Claims (6)
1. That the "SEE WIPE" Apparatus For Wiping Goggles and/or Eye Shields, hereafter refered to as the apparatus; comprises a wiping blade, a shaped base with an aperture into which is fitted an adjustable band and that the said apparatus can be fitted on to a finger (including gloved or miffed fingers) for removal of snow, sleet, rain or any variation thereof from goggles and/or eye-shields.
2. That the apparatus is fully adjustable being that it uses an adjustable band that allows the said apparatus to be adjusted to any size finger (including gloved or miffed fingers) and at any angle on said finger (including gloved or miffed fingers) in a snug and comfortable fitting manner.
3. That the apparatus can be positioned on whichever finger and wherever on said finger that the user finds the said apparatus most comfortable and efficient for the said user to wipe goggles and/or eye-shields without reasonable expectation that the apparatus will become dislodged.
4. That the apparatus is adaptable to many different uses including but not limited to:
skiing, snowboarding, snowmobilihg and motorcycling.
skiing, snowboarding, snowmobilihg and motorcycling.
5. That the apparatus is compact, unobtrusive and does not interfere with ski pole straps, grips, handlebars, or other devices when used as intended.
