Abstract
L'invention porte sur un procédé pour répartir et déplacer des données sur une pluralité de dispositifs de stockage dans un système RAID (pile redondante de disques indépendants), et pour ajouter, enlever et organiser des dispositifs de stockage dans le système RAID. Le procédé pour répartir et déplacer les données comprend plusieurs étapes: la division des blocs de données en une pluralité de parties carrées sur une pluralité de dispositifs de stockage, et l'échange des données dans les séries de blocs de chacune des parties carrées. L'étape d'échange comprend la sélection d'une partie carrée (1204), la localisation d'une série diagonale de blocs dans les limites de la partie carrée sélectionnée (1212), et l'échange de toutes les séries de blocs équidistantes de la série diagonale de blocs, sur les côtés opposés de la série diagonale de blocs, et sur une ligne perpendiculaire à la série diagonale de blocs (1214, 1216, 1218, 1220 et 1222).
