Abstract

Système de parcomètre intégré permettant d'automatiser la délivrance de contraventions. Chaque parcomètre est muni d'un télémètre sonar, d'un interrupteur à mercure et d'un émetteur-récepteur communiquant avec un ordinateur central situé au centre de contrôle par le truchement d'un système de communications personnelles (N-PCS). Lorsque la durée de stationnement est expirée, le parcomètre vérifie s'il y a un véhicule dans la place de stationnement et, en l'occurrence, informe l'ordinateur central qu'une voiture est illégalement stationnée dans l'espace en question. L'ordinateur central met cette information en corrélation pour identifier avec précision le transgresseur et achemine ensuite cette information, par le truchement d'un réseau sans fil, au communicateur personnel du préposé aux parcomètres, qui se rend chez le transgresseur et délivre la contravention. Cette technologie permet de modifier à distance la structure tarifaire de tout parcomètre électronique. Une caractéristique du parcomètre permet de signaler au personnel d'entretien des défectuosités précises des parcomètres. Le parcomètre peut également remettre le compteur à zéro lorsqu'une voiture quitte l'espace de stationnement.
