Abstract
A catalyst, as for example, one useful for the manufacture of vinyl acetate from acetic acid, ethylene, and oxygen consisting of the metals palladium, gold, and a metal of the group consisting of zirconium and rhenium on a porous support. The catalyst is manufactured by adsorbing water-soluble salts of the metals onto the support, precipitating the metal as a water-insoluble salt, and reducing the salt to the metal.
