Abstract
The embodiments of the invention of a descreet, patient friendly combination compliance package which will help a person to discreetly take their medication at the prescribed time as directed by the physician, in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
Description
SPECIFICATION
Fold over heat sealable, adherable wallet having on the right, a two panel7 30-day blister strip to contain a number of articles, such as medicaments in the form of capsules, tablets or the like, comprising an outer front data layer having ~0 diecut aperatures which is a creased panel continued from the back layer also having 30diecut aperatures, a blister layer including 30 article receiving pockets, repturable foil sealed to the blister layer and overlying the pockets and a reinforcing back layer formed of material same as the data layer; which has diecut holes in the same position as the pockets.
The bottom of the back layer extends beyond the area all around the blister layer to allow the bottom of the data layer matrix to heat seal or adhere to the bottom of the back layer.
The two right panels are joined by the continuation of the back layer, creased in two areas to provide a spine and continue to form the bottom of the left side of thepackage.
The bottom of the left side of the package is creased and extended to form the top left data layer. This left data layer is diecut in such a manner as to allow the top and right side of this panel to be heat sealed or adhered to the matrix of the bottom layer; which now provides a pocket for insertion of an educational booklet, a business reply envelope and a set of day labels. --The data layer provides space for arrows to indicate dosage direction. One sheetcontaining 7 strips of day labels each starting with a different day of the week allows a person to apply the correct start day. e.g., if the person's start date is a Wednesday, the day label strip commencing with Wednesday is chosen and applied to the des~gnated area.
The left inside data layer provides sufficient space for a pharmacist to apply the prescription label.
The patient information booklet and business reply envelope can be easily accessed due to the product being exposed on the right side of the pocket.
The left side and right side of the package can be easily folded to form a compact size, one half of the opened pack. The left side of the opened pack is inserted into a soft vinyl pouch. The vinyl pouch consists of one sheet of vinyl having one bottom panel, one top panel, two spine panels and one tuck panel. The outside of the bottom panel has a strap adhered to the outside back panel 1" from the outside end on the side perimeter of the pack. The inside of the bottom panel has a clear vinyl strip adhered to the bottom and half way up the two sides which provides a pocket to insert the front left side of the compliance pack. The right back panel of the vinyl is folded over along with the back panel, then the tuck flap is folded over the front panel and is inserted and held under the strap by the friction fit strap.
To open the package, one can flip the tuck flap back, open the package as you would a hinged top, insert one hand over the blister so the thumb is on the designated cavity to be depressed and the four fingers directly under the cavity to be depressed. The person then applies pressure on the blister with the thumb while supported by the fingers and one tablet falls onto one of the four fingers.
This package concept allows one to discreetly remove a tablet from the package without being seen doing so.

The left side and right side of the package can be easily folded to form a compact size, one half of the opened pack. The left side of the opened pack is inserted into a soft vinyl pouch. The vinyl pouch consists of one sheet of vinyl having one bottom panel, one top panel, two spine panels and one tuck panel. The outside of the bottom panel has a strap adhered to the outside back panel 1" from the outside end on the side perimeter of the pack. The inside of the bottom panel has a clear vinyl strip adhered to the bottom and half way up the two sides which provides a pocket to insert the front left side of the compliance pack. The right back panel of the vinyl is folded over along with the back panel, then the tuck flap is folded over the front panel and is inserted and held under the strap by the friction fit strap.
To open the package, one can flip the tuck flap back, open the package as you would a hinged top, insert one hand over the blister so the thumb is on the designated cavity to be depressed and the four fingers directly under the cavity to be depressed. The person then applies pressure on the blister with the thumb while supported by the fingers and one tablet falls onto one of the four fingers.
This package concept allows one to discreetly remove a tablet from the package without being seen doing so.

Claims (6)
- Claim 1.
The present invention relates to a patient friendly compliance package which will enable a person to easily follow individual dosage regimen. The invention relates to a blister strip of 30 tablets but can be 28 if required, in single cavities to contain unit dose tablets, capsules or the like.
The arrows (1) on the data layers (9) & (10) provide the direction of dosage. The day label (2) provides the exact start date. - Claim 2.
It is the intention to change to a new pack when the 30 tablets have been removed from the blister. The day label strip (2) will provide a new start date on the next package, since each 30-day period falls on a different day. Patient compliance is uninterupted simply by applying the new day label (2) at the start day of each subsequent pack. The arows (1) on the subsequent pack continues the dosage regimen, uninterupted. - Claim 3.
The diecut (4), hinged left side is sealed in such a manner as to provide a pocket where an information booklet and other printed material can be kept for future reference while leaving sufficient area to affix a pharmacist's label (5) to the left paperboard panel. - Claim 4.
The left side of the fold over pack is inserted into the pocket (6) of the soft vinyl pouch.
The friction fit holds the left panel in place while bending the vinyl panels (7) downward to easily allow grasping the right panel of the blister pack by placing the thumb on the blister cavity containing the tablet (12) to be dispensed while the four fingers support the bottom of the blister cavities (8) whereby the dispensed tablet falls onto one of the 4 fingers. If discretion is required, the front panel (11) can be folded over in order to conceal the tablet (12) being dispensed. - Claim 5.
The clear panel of the vinyl pouch (6) extends only halfway to the top panel from the spine, thereby providing a clear view of the pharmacist's label (5). - Claim 6.
Tuck strap (13) is sealed on both sides to allow easy tuck insertion and removal, but sufficient friction to hold tuck when folding
