Abstract

Cette invention concerne un système (12) de réparation de cartilage bio-absorbable qui permet de régénérer un cartilage articulaire endommagé ou détruit à la surface d'un os au moyen de la fixation d'une matrice supportant la croissance chondrogénique entre une région de cartilage articulaire endommagé ou détruit qu'on a éliminée et l'os spongieux sain adjacent. Le système (12) est constitué d'au moins un ensemble formé d'une unité (14) d'apport bio-absorbable conçue et dimensionnée pour être placée dans la région qu'on a éliminée et dans la région saine adjacente, et d'un élément rapporté (16) poreux bio-absorbable qui est supporté par l'unité (14) d'apport et placé dans cette dernière et qui établit la communication entre la région éliminée et la région saine adjacente pour une matrice supportant la croissance chondrogénique. L'élément rapporté (16) comprend de préférence un facteur de réparation (par exemple un facteur de croissance, un facteur de fixation ou bien les deux) disposé de manière libérable dans l'élément rapporté (16) pour participer à la fixation de la matrice supportant la croissance chondrogénique.
