Abstract

A valve position indicator includes a first shell form body and a second shell form body. The first body has an exterior surface marked with a first colour indicia and a second colour indicia. A rotatable valve actuator knob is non-rotatably secured to the first body. The second body overlies the first body and has viewing windows. Rotation of the second body is limited relative to the first body to a closed rotational position in which the first colour indicia is visible through the viewing windows and an open rotational position in which the second colour indicia is visible through the viewing windows. The second body is locked in the open rotational position until a preset locking tension is overcome.
