Abstract

A process for producing 3,5-diaryl pyrazolene of general formula (I), where R1 and R3 are possibly substituted aryl radicals, R2 is hydrogen, C1-C5 alkyl and possibly substituted aryl, in which hydrazine hydrate is reacted with 1,3 diaryl propenonene of general formula (II), where R1, R2 and R3 have the above meanings, in sulphuric acid in the presence of iodine or an iodine compound.
