Abstract
In a product used as an algaecide, reducer of chlorine compounds, pH regulator and water clarifier for swimming pools, whirlpools and fountains.
Description
October 31, 1996 DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY
The product has been developed to reduce the need for source of active chlorine in water, for disinfecting swimming pools and also to improve water quality.
The addition of active chlorine is necessary to avoid bacteria and algae growth in them swimming pools. However, active chlorine causes several discomfort such as: eye irritation, dryness skin and hair, discoloration of costumes baths, suffocating odors etc ... In addition, the maintenance of a swimming pool from time to time requires changing the pH
by adding acids or bases. Finally, when the active chlorine kills bacteria and algae, microbes dead cause turbidity in the water.
We have discovered that these drawbacks can be removed, by the use of a single product. A formulation which happens to be the combination of three products.
1: A source of copper which is an effective algaecide. The copper sulfate pentahydrate is the source of copper in the formulation. This algicide is effective when present as 1% up to 50% of the formulation.

Le 31 octobre 1996 2: A filtration aid for clarifying the water disinfected. Aluminum sulphate (alum) is present as a filtration aid. This organic salt dissolves in water and causes fine particles to flocculate afterwards this ingredient improves water quality by improving the appearance of water. This ingredient is effective when present as 25% up to 50% of the formulation.

L e 31 octobre 1996 UTILISATION DU PRODUIT DANS LES PISCINES

In order to balance this effect, the presence of weak acids by adding a base to the formulation. AT
this end the amount of sodium carbonate needed to neutralize acids was determined and added to the formulation.
The effectiveness of this formulation has been proven by its used in several different pools. It was determined that the optimal concentration of copper in the treated water is approximately 0.10 + or - 0.05 mg / L. This formulation was developed in order to produce this concentration while keeping the pH of the pool water in the range of 7.0 to 7.8.
In conclusion, this formulation replaces several pool maintenance products.
October 31, 1996 USE OF THE PRODUCT IN POOLS
1. THE INITIAL DOSAGE for a swimming pool that has not visible seaweed is 10 grams of product per 10,000 L
pool water. Dissolve the product in one liter of water warm before adding to the skimmer or spreading directly the solution or the granules on the surface of the pool.
2. If algae are visible, add 10 grams of the product dissolved in one liter of water per 10,000 L of pool water.
Repeat daily until the water returns Claire. Then use the weekly maintenance dosage described in step 3.
3. WEEKLY MAINTENANCE DOSAGE is 3 to 4 grams of product dissolved in half a liter of water per 10,000 L of pool water. Add to the skimmer or to the pool surface after regeneration. Reduce the chlorine level of disinfectant to the minimum necessary to maintain the clarity of the water.
