Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un composite à cristaux liquides qui consiste à disperser des gouttelettes d'un matériau à cristaux liquides dans une matrice polymère, au moins un autre matériau étant utilisé pour séparer le matériau à cristaux liquides de la matrice polymère. Cette structure permet de sélectionner la matrice polymère en fonction de ses propriétés relatives à l'environnement, et l'autre matériau en fonction des interactions de son orientation avec le matériau à cristaux liquides. Des modulateurs de lumière obtenus à partir de ce type de matériau composite présentent des propriétés électro-optiques améliorées.
