Abstract
The manual collection and containment of material may require tools of various nature, gloves and bag. In this invention, the characteristics of both glove and bag are combined into a single article. The invention enables the user to manually gather and collect material by means of a glove portion defined by individual finger compartments incorporated within the closed end of the bag and so disposed to create a web-like structure surrounding the individual compartments, and contain material by turning the bag inside out so as to completely enclose the material being retained by the hand inside the bag. Individual finger compartments enhance both manual and digital dexterity and greatly facilitate the collection, retention and containment process. The bag is of suitable lenght and width to easely insert and accommodate the band and render the containment process effortless. Utilization of the invention prevents direct skin contact with material to be collected and contained by the article. The bag may be closed by knotting together handles or flaps, drawstring(s), zip locks, glue/heat seals or by any other suitable means for closing/sealing purposes.
Description
2 i s4zo4 SPECIFICATION
Disclosure This invention relates to an article us~l for collecting and containing material.
It is cam~n practice in collecting material to be contained by a bag to use bare hands or gloves andJor tools of various nature to collect and transfer the material into a bag. It is often necessary to hold the bag open with one hand while transferring the material with the other. pillage may result depending upon the the nature of the material to be contained.
Tools and/or gloves utilized for col_l.ecting and transferring the material may be soiled and may require cleaning ar necessitate that they be disposed of.
I have found that these disadvantages ~y be overcome by canbining glove and bag into a single article. The article facilitates the collectian and containment of material while elim?nating the use of individual gloves and bag associated with this pmcess.
The article also ensures protection against direct skin contact with the material to be collected and contained.
In a drawing which illustrates an eTnbod~ment of the invention, Figure 1 is a geometrical projection of one side of one embodiment.
The article c~npri;ses the characteristics of both glove and bag.
It freely accommodates either hand. The article can also be adapted to a mechanical hand-arm device. The article is of any suitable lenght, size, shape and material c~r~position (e.g. a thin, flexible, moisture-proof material) but in the form shown is sealed closed at the top 1, al~g its side/longitudinal edges 2 and open at the bottom 3. Individual finger compartments 4 are so incorporate~3 to allow for maximum spread between each finger and so disposed to create a web-like structure 5 the inside edge 6 of which defines t:~he individual compartments. Individual finger ccxnpartments enhance both manual and digital dexterity and greatly facilitate the collection, retention and containment process. The canp,~nents are designed to loosely fit around fingers so that they may easely slip out of their respective canpartments when 'the bag is turned inside out on itself.
The user collects and retains material with the hand that has been inserted into the glove. The open end of the bag is then pulled down turnin!3 it inside out thereby enclosing and containing the material being retained by the hand. Means for securing the bag closed have not been illustrated but these may take on the form of handles or flaps that can be tied together, drawstring(s), zip locks, glue/heat seals or any other suitable means for closing/sealing purposes.

Claims (3)
1. A manually operable article of any suitable length, size, shape and material composition for gathering, collecting, retaining and containing material, having the characteristics of both glove and bag, comprising a bag having a top, side/longitudinal edges and a bottom, sealed closed at the top, along its side/longitudinal edges and open at the bottom for hand insertion, which incorporates individual and loosely fitting finger compartments located inside the closed top of the bag and so disposed so as to be connected by a web-like structure the inside edge of which defines the individual finger compartments, and which permits the collection and containment of material by inverting the bag inside out over the material being retained for containment.
2. An article as defined in claim 1, the open bottom of which can be closed by incorporating handles or flaps that can be knotted together, drawstrings, zip locks, glue/heat seals, or any other suitable means for closing/sealing purposes.
3. An article as defined in claim 1 or claim 2, which can be adapted to a mechanical hand-arm device.
