Abstract
An envelope of straps make up a harness means to support a toddler. Two shoulder straps with looped ends are adapted to be held by an adult above the toddler. The straps are attached to a T-shaped sheet of elastomer fabric; the ends of the "T" overlap about the stomach area of the toddler and are held fast there by "VELCRO" (trade mark) fasteners. The "leg" of the "T" surrounds the crotch area of the toddler and fastens up to the overlapping part of the 'T" and can be held there by another set of "VELCRO"
fasteners by a snug support for the toddler.

Description
2 1 798~2 PARENT CONTROLLED HARNESS TO HELP A CHILD WALK
BACKGROUND OF THE lNVENTlON
THE PRESENT lNVENTlON lS related to harness and support means that have been developed to help a parent or nurse to control a child or other unstable person such as an ~nvalid to learn to walk. Walk harness supports are known for use by one hand of a parent to control the movements of a chlld that Is learn;ng to stand and walk. u.S. patent 5,120,287 shows a means of straps to hold a young person and allows an adult to control the support by means of an upper rod member. The harness straps are not adjust-able to accomodate pelvic changes of the person to be held and can be awkward to take on and off. There has been a need for a harness support that can be adjusted for the learners shape but can be controlled by the parent by one hand only.
lN PARTlCULAR THE PRESENT lNVENT~ON PROVlDES a harness that can be controlled by the grasp of a parents' hand and has a flat adjustable flap that can be closed by a velCro ~Ctrade mark~
closure means that holds and supports the walker-learner comfort-ably. Another strap held to-gether by a "VELCRO" means and formed flat and from a sheet of elastomeric material can be formed under the bottom of the chlld to hold and support hlm from below and for augmented measure to hold up the learner-walker.

2 1 79~32 Straps wlth buckle type closure means can be added over the elastomer sheet closed by the "VELCRO" system for added protectjon of a toddler.
OBJECTS OF THE lNVENTlON
THE PRlNClPAL OBJECT OF THE PRESENT lNVENTlON lS ; to show how to construct a harness means that can be put on a toddler and taken off a toddler fast and eas;ly. The object can be done by having the upper straps of the harness attach to a T-shaped sheet of elastomer fabr~c wh;ch can be opened and then surrouned about the toddler and fastened there and together by 'velcro' fastener means3 the upper straps attached to the sheet of elastomer are held by the parent of the toddler who can threreby control the toddlers walk.
SUMMARY OF THE lNVENTlON
An evelope of harness straps attached to a T-shaped sheet of elastom~r fabric ;s prov;ded to hold a toddler fast thereby allow~ng a parent or other adult such as a nurse, to control the todler by the straps and thereby help toddler make steps and walk the elastomer sheet holds fast to the toddlers crotch and stomach by means of "Velcro~ fastener means for fast attachment and unfast-en;ng of the envelope.
THE DRAWlnGS
WlTH THE FOREGOlNG OGJECTS lN VlEW and such advantages or novel features as may become apparent from a read;ng of the dlsclosure 2~ 3~
the present Invent~on has the concept embraced by the construct-l on and arrangement of parts or any new use of the same here shown by an ebod;ment of the concept; reference be;ng had to the drawIngs that follow where the same reference numerals refer to the same parts~
FlG,l shows a toddler being held by the straps of a harness of the present novel construction.
FlG.2' shows how the harness can be opened out to allow the toddler to be put between and enclosed by the envelope of the 'velcro' fasten;ng elastomer sheet.

EMBODlMENT OF THE lNVENTlON AND OPERATlON THEREOF
ln the draw~ngs numeral 10 deslgnates the harness as a whole and shows how ;t envelopes a toddler 12 and can be held by a parents hand 13. , The harness 10 has two looped s;des 14,15 formed , together at 16,17 to make loops allow;ng the parents hand 13 to hold the loops together to control the toddler when held by the harness. ~ach strap 14,15 of the harness 10 can be attached to an elastomer sheet 24 spaced apart as shown on F~G.2 one looped strap on each sI,de of the one of the arms of the T-shaped elastmer sheet 24, VELCRO patch 27 mates wjth VELCRO patch 32 to hold the sheet 24 fast about the toddler'l2.The VELCRO hooked surface of patch 32 faces outward and does I-~Ot show jn FlG. 2.
A patch 31 adjacent patch 27 fa~es outward of sheet 24 and mates with a patch on the lower port~on of sheet 24 the backs~de can be seen as 22 of the FlG.l and Flg.2 The patchs show where the "VELCR0"
fasteners meet and mate. The leg of the "T" of the sheet of elastomer 24 has numeral 21 and ;s shown folded up and matjng wjth patch 31 thereby mak;ng the harness fast about the toddlers' crotch.
the harness 10 has a support member 28 attached to the ;nner parts of each of straps 16.17 to make extra support to the rear of the harness. each of the straps has moveable cross memb er 19,18 attached between the straps as shown to prevent a toddler from putt~ng hls head thru between the staps when he ~s held by the adults hand, A stomach strap 20 fastened by buckle means 30 can be added to surround the harness and elastomer sheet thereby to assure that the toddler cannot come free of the elastomer sheet held by the harness.
