Abstract
A powdered material is used for application to the human skin.
It has particular application in the diapering of children. The material comprises flour, particularly white, enriched, wheat flour toasted to a light brown color. The material is applied directly to the skin and has been found effective in controlling diaper rash.

Claims (8)
1. A material for dermatological application in the form of a dry powder comprising flour oxidized by exposure to heat.
2. A material according to Claim 1 wherein the flour is wheat flour.
3. A method of producing material for ameliorating skin eruptions comprising:
providing flour; and oxidizing the flour to a brown color.

4. A method according to Claim 3 wherein the flour is wheat flour.
5. A method according to Claim 4 wherein the flour contains, before oxidation, one or more of amylase, benzoyl peroxide, ascorbic acid, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin, mononitrate and riboflavin.
6. A method of diapering a child comprising:
distributing over body surfaces to be covered by a diaper a material comprising oxidized flour;
applying a diaper to the body surfaces; and securing the diaper in place.

7. A method according to Claim 6 wherein the flour is wheat flour.
8. A method according to Claim 7 wherein the flour has been oxidized to a brown color.
