Abstract

In the production of pulp and paper from starch-coated paper, the deinking effect can be improved by including a treatment a starch-degrading enzyme e.g. amylase or a debranching enzyme. The process comprises enzyme treatment before, during or after disintegration of the paper to produce pulp, followed by separation of ink particles.
