Abstract

Most athletic gloves (ie. football and baseball gloves) that are designed for their gripping and tactile ability are made of tactified leather on the palm. In this invention, the palm of the Sweet T.D. glove would be made up of vinyl impregnated cotton. The backing of the Sweet T.D. glove would consist of simple nylon mesh to allow for ventilation. The seams will be stitched on the inside of the glove to allow for a more flexible fit. The wrist band of the glove would fasten completely around the entire wrist and would consist of an elastic backing to allow for greater flexibility in the wrist.

Description

SPECIFICATION
This invention relates to an athletic glove called the Sweet T.D. that is designed with a vinyl impregnated palm to offer athletes a more sensitive and outst~n-ling grip.
Most of today's modern athletic gloves consist of tactified leather on the palm. This type of glove has been around for many years. Although this glove is effective, in my experience as a professional football player, it is not as effective in terms of grip, sensitivity, finger dexterity, and tactfulness. The vinyl impregnated cotton palm of the Sweet T.D. glove allows the athlete to grip objects better (ie. footballs, baseball bats, etc.) through improved finger dexterity and sensitivity.
Other advantages of the Sweet T.D. glove is that it is less expensive than the highly priced tactified leather gloves. The Sweet T.D. vinyl impregn~t~l cotton gloves are much more durable than other athletic gloves since they are machine washable and won't shrink, stiffen, or loss its grip. All of these characteristics will help improve athletic performance.
The palm of this Sweet T.D. glove, as shown in figure 1, will consist of vinyl impregnated cotton with the searns stitched on the inside of the glove. The backside of the glove, as shown in figure 2, will consist of a flexible mesh made of nylon, which will allow for ventilation. The wrist band, as shown in figure 3, will wrap around the entire radius of the wrist, and will consist of a velcro strap to allow for easy adjusting and tightening of the glove. The backside of the glove will also have an elastic wrist backing to allow for better fit.

Claims

CLAIM 1 Since the Sweet T.D. sport glove' s palm is made of vinyl impregnated cotton, it is much more effective than the traditional tactified leather palm of sport gloves because the Sweet T.D. sport glove offers a better grip (ie. a much more tacky and sticky grip).
CLAIM 2 The Sweet T.D. glove offers greater sensitivity and finger dexterity, with more flexibility in the palm than traditional tactified leather sporting gloves.
CLAIM 3 The Sweet T.D. glove is much more durable than the tactified leather gloves because they are machine washable, won't shrink, stiffen, or loss its grip; (the grip actually improves after each wash).
CLAIM 4 The backing of the Sweet T.D. glove is made of a nylon mesh since vinyl impregnated cotton palm does not ventilate very well, therefore this reduces the amount of perspiration within the Sweet T.D. glove thus improving its performance by reducing the amount of slipping by the hand inside the glove.
CLAIM 5 The sweet T.D. glove is approximately 1/4 the cost of the traditional tactified leather gloves because vinyl impregnated cotton is inexpensive relative to leather.
