Abstract
On procède à la surveillance environnementale de faibles concentrations de composés organiques dans un milieu tel que la nappe phréatique en utilisant une cellule de diffusion (112) constituée d'une membrane polymère formant des tubes hélicoïdaux (125) et immergée dans le fluide environnant de sorte que les composés organiques à des concentrations ppb et ppt soient diffusés dans et à travers le matériau polymère. Un gaz porteur dans le tube polymère acquiert une concentration des composés organiques sensiblement équilibrée avec la concentration de composés organiques dans le fluide environnant. De manière à permettre le contrôle au moyen de détecteurs (116) qui ne sont pas sensibles à des taux extrêmement faibles de composés organiques, un dispositif de concentration tel qu'un tube de désorption thermique (114) peut être prévu pour traiter le gaz et l'activation thermique périodique et décharger de celui-ci les composés organiques devant être détectés par un capteur.
