Abstract

Applicateur du type à aspersion, permettant d'appliquer un enduit liquide sur une bande de papier passant devant l'applicateur. Ce dernier présente un chemin d'écoulement d'enduit comprenant une surface incurvée sur laquelle une nappe d'enduit liquide s'écoule de façon à être soumise à une force centrifuge. Ceci permet de déplacer l'air entraîné dans l'enduit liquide vers un côté de la nappe, l'éloignant ainsi de ladite surface incurvée. Après s'être écoulée sur cette surface, la nappe d'enduit liquide est acheminée vers la bande en un rideau libre formé de jets d'enduit liquide, de sorte que le côté relativement dépourvu d'air de ladite nappe soit mis en contact avec la surface de la bande, tandis que l'autre côté de la nappe n'est pratiquement pas en contact avec ladite surface. La mise en contact de la bande avec un enduit liquide relativement dépourvu d'air entraîné réduit au minimum les sauts de l'enduit sur la bande, en particulier lorsque celle-ci passe devant l'applicateur à des vitesses élevées.
