Description
21~8~4 MICROWAVE INFUSION VESSEL
S P E C I F I C A T I O N
OBJECT OF THE lNV~ ~ION
The present specification relates to a microwave infusion vessel that is clearly intended to be capable of being used to make an infusion from any kind of product suitable to such end, for instance coffee, tea, mint tea, and so forth, after putting the product inside a vessel through which the hot water located in an inner reservoir will gradually, albeit speedily, pass, which liquid, having crossed through the space cont~;n;ng the product used to make the infusion, will reach an upper reservoir through a central duct after going through a filtering stage, the infusion being made speedily and simply, after placing the vessel inside a microwave oven where it undergoes the microwave action for a short space of time, the liquid located in the top reservoir never actually boiling before the infusion as such is obtained, thereby for the scent and taste to be maintained.
FIELD OF 1~ INVENTION
The present invention is applicable within the household equipment manufacturing industry, in particular as pertains to appliances made with plastic material.
DESCRIPTION OF THE lNV~llON
The microwave infusion vessel subject of the present invention is per se clearly a novelty within the field in which it belongs, for with it the users of the vessel can make infusions of any kind, which includes coffee, quite 214~Q
easily, employing a single vessel to make the infusion, and where coffee is in particular to be made, ground coffee is placed in an internal reservoir that has a filter and the infusion will be ready to be had within minutes, the heat source used being a microwave oven.
More specifically, the microwave infusion vessel subject of this invention comprises two complementary bodies that are fixed to each other using a spiral thread lying outside the mouth of the bottom body, the top body having a bottom-end perimetric sleeve that has a similar spiral thread on its inner portion, its size and pitch matching those described for the bottom body thread, the two bodies being joined to one another by turning both elements relative to each other, the bottom-end body having an internal perimetric salient or rib designed to be used as an area for the attachment of a complementary part that is shaped substantially as a hollow pan and has a multi-perforated part halfway up its length that is a part of it and leads into a hollow internal area the opposite face of which has a central bore leading into a cylindrical raised member or duct., The said pan-shaped part, designed to receive the infusion as such through which hot water will thereafter pass for this water to extract the substances from the plant used, is internally fitted with a similarly-shaped concentric body, made of a metallic material and both internally and externally coated with a film of plastic material, thereby to prevent the radiation generated inside the microwave oven from impinging directly upon such body when the unit is placed inside an oven of this kind, and hence to avoid the disadvantages derived from such direct impingement upon a metallic mass.
21~8~&4 The said adverse effects are fully eliminated since the metallic body is entirely coated with the plastic material.
A sealing gasket will be placed over the mouth of the said pan, attached to the top part, retaining the complementary filter with which the unit is provided, and being likewise made of a metallic material, this filter being used to block the passage of the product which could potentially be dragged by pressure towards the top mouth located at the central portion of the body receiving the infusion as such, allowing the infusion contained in the top reservoir to be removed through an opening found on the top portion and shaped as a pouring nozzle, being useful as a means for removing the liquid to be served, the top part having a conventional lid closing the same and a handle allowing the object to be handled by the user.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
In order to provide a fuller description and contribute to the complete understanding of the characteristics of this invention, a set of drawings is attached to the specification which, while purely illustrative and not fully comprehensive, shows the following:
The only Figure shows a side elevation cross-sectional view of the microwave infusion vessel subjectof the present invention.
~K~K~V EMBODINENT OF '1'~ INVENTION
With reference to the only Figure, the microwave 21~8~S4 infusion vessel (1) subject of the invention comprises two bottom (2~ and top (3) bodies, both made of a stiff plastic material and locked to one another by means of an outer thread established at the mouth (2') of the bottom s body (2) and an inner thread established on a perimetric projection (3') with which the top body (3) is provided, both threads being of the spiral kind and having the same pitch so as to allow the two bodies to be coupled to each other.
The inner mouth (2') portion of the bottom body (2) is provided with a perimetric rib at a given height that serves as a ledge or seat, upon and to which an inner body or ancillary member is adapted and fixed that is generally shaped as a cylindrical pan (7) and has a lower projection leading down from its, central portion and having a bore (11), the said pan being made of a metallic material and both internally and externally coated with ~ plastic film (8), this plastic cover (8) also extending to the said lower projection leading down from such pan (7 ? . This internal body has a multi-perforated base (9) through which water previously inserted into the inner space of the bottom body (2) will flow, and thus when the energy supplied by the microwave oven heats this water, it will rise and flow through the bore (11) on the lower cylindrical projection of the pan (7), and then cross the base (9) through the perforations the latter has, flow through, the product used for the infusion lying inside the pan, thereafter to overflow the metallic plate (10), that also has multiple perforations and is attached to the bottom-end portion of the top body (3), being held by a gasket (not shown) acting as a sealing element for the bodies (2j and (3). The water, now carrying the infusion, continues on its way to reach the inside of the top body (3), flow, ing to this end through the cylindrical raised 21~88~4 member (12) the top end of which is open, and arriving inside this body (3) from which it can subsequently be served through the pouring nozzle (6), the user being able to easily and comfortably handle the object through a conventional handle that is fixed to the hinge point of the top cover (4) due to a side embossment (5).
In conclusion, the liquid for making the infusion (water) is placed inside the bottom body (2), shaped as a cylindrical reservoir, and the pan comprising the metallic part (7) coated both externally and internally with a film (8) of plastic material, is then placed in position, the product with which the infusion is to be made being subsequently placed inside the said pan, the top body (3) being then coupled by screwing the sleeve or perimetric projection (3') onto the portion (2') or mouth of the bottom body (2), this attachment of both bodies being tightly sealed by means of a conventional sealing gasket (not shown) that in turn holds a plate (10) used as a filter to prevent the passage of or hold back matter that may potentially be dragged by the liquid as it rises into the body (3), and therefore only the liquid filtered by the said filter plate (10) will pass and arrive in the top body (3) through the duct embodied by the cylindrical raised member (12) provided inside the said top body (3).
Once the infusion has been made, the user may remove the unit from the microwave oven and serve the said infusion, be it coffee, tea, mint tea, camomile tea and so forth, which shall have been made within a short space of time, holding the vessel (1) by the conventional handle which is fixed, as aforesaid, to the hinge point of the top cover (4), the infusion being removed through the pouring nozzle (6) with which the said top body (3) is provided.
2148~4 We feel that the description need not be extended any longer for any expert in the art to have grasped the full scope of the invention and the advantages it offers.
