ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
A roll holder and dispenser formed by a body with two side walls (1) which are narrower in their lower end (2) showing two "U" shaped supports (3) with inner cavities (4) to receive the supporting rod (5) of the paper towel roll (6), with the body being divided into a lower portion, totally opened (7) and two upper compartments (8) and (9) where two drawers (10) and (11) slide, for keeping the aluminum foil (16) and plastic film (17) rolls, with the front faces having a rail (19) where the cutting elements slide and a groove (20) in which the circular knife (26) slide, and an opening (21) for the outlet of the aluminum foil and of the plastic film.

-- 2 ~ 5 BACXGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to roll holders and dispensers, and, more particularly to a roll holder for aluminum foil, plastic film and paper towel, which provides a functional improvement for the whole assembly.
Such a roll holder and dispenser i8 especially useful for the retention, dispensing and replacement of sheet material commonly used in kitchens and pantries, and in providing a decorative device for aluminum foil, plastic film and paper towels.
SUMMARY QF THE INVENTION
The objects and advantages of the invention will be set forth in part in the description which follows and in part will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the invention. The objects and advantages of the invention may be realized and attained by means of the instrumentalities and combinations particularly pointed out in the appended claims To achieve the objects and in accordance with the purpose of the invention, as embodied and broadly described herein, the ;-~
roll holder and dispenser of the present invention comprises a body having a pair of laterally spaced side walls joined by vertically spaced shelves to provide at least one elongated compartment extending laterally between thè side walls. The present invention relates to roll holders and dispensers, and, more particularly to a roll holder for aluminum foil, plastic film and paper towel, which provides a functional improvement for the whole assembly.
Such a roll holder and dispenser i8 especially useful for the retention, dispensing and replacement of sheet material commonly used in kitchens and pantries, and in providing a decorative device for aluminum foil, plastic film and paper towels.

2~ ~3~3 receivable in the compartment and has a horizontal drawer floor joined with a vertical drawer front, the drawer front having an elongated laterally extending opening for passage of a web from ~ a supply roll supported in the drawer. A laterally extending ; rail is mounted on the exterior of the drawer front above the opening and a laterally extending groove extends under the opening and parallel to the rail. A cutting element is supported by the rail for lateral movement along the length of the opening and has a knife cooperable with the groove to sever the web passing through the opening.

r~, As shown in the drawings, an embodiment of the roll holder and dispenser of the invention includes a body formed by two lateral walls (1), the lower back edges of which are inclined so ~o be narrower in a bottom region (2), the end of which defines an "U" shaped support (3), with an inner cavity (4) to receive the supporting rod (5) of paper towel roll ~6).
The body is divided into three different sections, with the lower section being totally opened to form a space (7) to receive the paper towel roll (6), and with the two upper sections forming superposed compartments (8) and (9) with front openings, where two sliding drawers (10) and (11) are provided.
The drawers are preferably of an "L" shaped profile structure having two inwardly directed flexible flaps (12), the outer faces of which have a high relief, grooved rectangular sector (13), which fits, under pressure, into corresponding openings (14) in the side walls of the body. When the drawers are closed, the sectors (13) and openings (14) assure the retention - thereof, with the high relief rectangula~ sectors (13) defining lateral decorative elements as shown in Fig. 3. ~:
on the lower inner portion or floors of the drawers (10) and (11), wedge shaped back stops (15) are provided for the holding and handling of an aluminum foil roll (16) and a plastic film roll (17). At the front portion of the drawer floors, there are provided housings freely supporting a roller (18) which will facilitate the free movement of the aluminum foil and of the plastic film.

r~, As shown in the drawings, an embodiment of the roll holder and dispenser of the invention includes a body formed by two lateral walls (1), the lower back edges of which are inclined so ~o be narrower in a bottom region (2), the end of which defines an "U" shaped support (3), with an inner cavity (4) to receive the supporting rod (5) of paper towel roll ~6).
The body is divided into three different sections, with the lower section being totally opened to form a space (7) to receive the paper towel roll (6), and with the two upper sections forming superposed compartments (8) and (9) with front openings, where two sliding drawers (10) and (11) are provided.
The drawers are preferably of an "L" shaped profile structure having two inwardly directed flexible flaps (12), the outer faces of which have a high relief, grooved rectangular sector (13), which fits, under pressure, into corresponding openings (14) in the side walls of the body. When the drawers are closed, the sectors (13) and openings (14) assure the retention - thereof, with the high relief rectangula~ sectors (13) defining lateral decorative elements as shown in Fig. 3. ~:

The exterior front portion of each of the drawers (lo) and :~
(11~ is provided near its upper edge with a longitudinal "L"
shaped rail (l9) and, near its lower edge, with a longitudinal groove (20) defined by spaced longitudinally extending formations. Immediately above the longitudinal groove (20) and along it, there i6 an elongated opening (21).
The "L" shaped rails (19) slidably support cutting elements (22) for the aluminum foil and plastic ~ilm. The cutting elements are formed by handle parts which are hollow at their back side. At their upper back side, the cutting elements are provided with a notch (23) through which they are slidably connected to said rails (19). The front face of each cutting element is beveled at its upper portion (24) and the side walls :~
are grooved (25) to facilitate their handling. Within the hollow part and at the lowest portion, there are supports (26) adapted for the horizontal assembly of a circular knife (27), ;
which coincides with the groove (20) in which the cutting edge :~
remains partially housed and along which said cutting knife ::~
runs.
The aluminum foil and the plastic film extend out through ;~
the openings (21) in the front portion of the respective drawers (10) and (11), and pass over the longitudinal grooves (20), where they will be cut by the circular knives (27) assembled in the cutting elements, cutting along said longitudinal grooves (20).

The exterior front portion of each of the drawers (lo) and :~
(11~ is provided near its upper edge with a longitudinal "L"
shaped rail (l9) and, near its lower edge, with a longitudinal groove (20) defined by spaced longitudinally extending formations. Immediately above the longitudinal groove (20) and along it, there i6 an elongated opening (21).
The "L" shaped rails (19) slidably support cutting elements (22) for the aluminum foil and plastic ~ilm. The cutting elements are formed by handle parts which are hollow at their back side. At their upper back side, the cutting elements are provided with a notch (23) through which they are slidably connected to said rails (19). The front face of each cutting element is beveled at its upper portion (24) and the side walls :~
are grooved (25) to facilitate their handling. Within the hollow part and at the lowest portion, there are supports (26) adapted for the horizontal assembly of a circular knife (27), ;
which coincides with the groove (20) in which the cutting edge :~
remains partially housed and along which said cutting knife ::~

The aluminum foil and the plastic film extend out through ;~
the openings (21) in the front portion of the respective drawers (10) and (11), and pass over the longitudinal grooves (20), where they will be cut by the circular knives (27) assembled in the cutting elements, cutting along said longitudinal grooves (20).

Claims (9)
1. A roll holder and dispenser comprising:
a body having a pair of laterally spaced side walls joined by vertically spaced shelves to provide at least one elongated compartment extending laterally between the side walls, said side walls extending downwardly below a lowermost one of said shelves to provide a towel rod support;
a drawer slidably receivable in said compartment and having a horizontal drawer floor joined with a vertical drawer front, said drawer front having an elongated laterally extending opening for passage of a web from a supply roll supported in said drawer, a laterally extending exterior rail above said opening and a pair of vertically spaced exterior formations to define a laterally extending groove under said opening and parallel to said rail; and a cutting element supported by said rail for lateral movement along the length of said opening and having a knife cooperable with said groove to sever the web passing through said opening.

a drawer slidably receivable in said compartment and having a horizontal drawer floor joined with a vertical drawer front, said drawer front having an elongated laterally extending opening for passage of a web from a supply roll supported in said drawer, a laterally extending exterior rail above said opening and a pair of vertically spaced exterior formations to define a laterally extending groove under said opening and parallel to said rail; and a cutting element supported by said rail for lateral movement along the length of said opening and having a knife cooperable with said groove to sever the web passing through said opening.
2. The roll holder and dispenser recited in claim 1 wherein said body includes two compartments extending laterally between the side walls, each of said two compartments slidably receiving a drawer as defined and a cutting element on the drawer.
3. The roll holder and dispenser recited in claim 1 wherein each of said side walls is formed with an aperture opening to opposite ends of said compartment, said drawer having at each end an inwardly projecting flexible flap with a projection to engage in said aperture.
4. The roll holder and dispenser recited in claim 1 wherein said drawer is of L-shaped profile to establish said drawer floor and said drawer front, the drawer floor including wedge shaped back stops for retaining the supply roll.
5. The roll holder and dispenser recited in claim 4 wherein the drawer floor further includes a laterally extending roller to facilitate rotation of the supply roll.
6. The roll holder and dispenser recited in claim 1 wherein said knife is a rotatable circular knife.
7. The roll holder and dispenser recited in claim 1 wherein said cutting element comprises a vertically oriented handle having a back side extending between upper and lower ends, a notch at the upper end to engage said rail and a support for said knife at the lower end.
8. The roll holder and dispenser recited in claim 7 wherein said handle includes exterior side surfaces having grooves to facilitate manual lateral movement of the cutting element.
9. The roll holder and dispenser recited in claim 1 wherein said side walls include tapered rear edges extending from the lowermost one of said shelves to said towel-rod support.
