Abstract

ABSTRACT

It is known that cardboard Grease-gun cartriages and the packaging of the cartriages into cardboard boxes are in-sufficient in strength to withstand external damage under normal operator usage, and or transportation of cartriages to the job site. Presently there is no known apparatus made for the purpose of storing, protecting, dispensing, trans-porting, or stabilizing Grease-gun cartriages in a conven-ient manner. In this invention the Grease-gun cartriages are isolated from each other in individual compartments integrated in a durable manufactured container for the ease of storage, protection, dispensing, stabilization, and transporting either at and/or to the job site.

Description

SPECIFICATION

~ his invention relates to a container designed for the purpose of storing, protecting, dispensing, stabilizing, and transporting Grease-gun cartriages.
Presently the common way to purchase Grear~e-gun cartri-ages is from the retailer in a cardboard box supplied by the manufacture. ~he Grease-gun cartriages are then trans-ported and dispensed for personal use from the supplied cardboard box.
Grease-gun cartriages are very delicate and susceptable to damage and contamination even when stored in the orig-inal cardboard box supplied.
Usual causes of damage rendering the Grease-gun cartri-ages useless or at best difficult to use are:
1) Crushing Damage to the cartriages created from com-ing into contact with other heavy object~ that they are commonly stored with.
2) Contamination due to 1099 of plastic du~t cover from improper dispensing and storing system.
3) Water Damage to the cardboard box supplied results in an unsuitable storage container.
4) Improper Dispensing occurs when cartriages have been removed for use, creating instability with remaining cartriages in the box.
5) ~artriages In Sub-Zero Applications are difficult to dispense from the Grease-gun.
6) Hazardour~ & Unsanitary Work Conditions result from 1099 of grease from the damaged cartriages.
This invention will overcome the proble[ns involved with storage, protection, dispensing, stabilizing, and trans-porting Grease-gun cartriages, being used in the convention-al manner, by providing a durable manufactured container that isolates the cartriages from each other, stabilizing movement. ~his invention can be mounted in a location for operator convenience. In sub-zero applications the invention can be mounted in a heated area. E.G. Heated cab of equip-ment, hydra~lic of engine compartment's etc.

Figure 1 is a Top View of the embodiment with the lid open. The container lllustrated has 10 individual compart-ments (A) showing three grease cartriages in place (B) and hinging point (D).

Figure 2 shows a Cutaway View from the ~ide with the lid open, This illustrates a grease cartriage in place (B) with the dust cover end (C) of the cartriage protruding.
This drawing illustrates the hinging point (D) being on the opposite ~ide of the mounting lugs (E). The lid (F) is recessed to accomodate the protruding grease cartriage9 when closed, a lip (G) will slide a short distance over three sides of the container (excluding hinging point) when the lid is closed.

Figure 3 shows the Side opposite Hinge Side with the lid (F) closed. This view shows four mounting lugs (~1) and protruding ear~ (I) for gripping the lid to open it.

Claims

"The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:"
1. A mountable container utilizing individual compart-ments for the purpose of storing, protecting, dispensing, stabilizing, and transporting Grease-gun cartriages in a convenient, sanitary and orderly fashion.
