BRIEF pESCRIPTION OF THE DRA~INGS
The above as well as other advantages and features of the present invention will be described in greater detail according to the preferred embodiments of the present invention in which Figure 1 is a perspective view ~f a doll fitted with a harness assembly according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 2 is a front view of the doll an.d harness assembly of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is an enlarged partially exploded perspective of the harness assembly when removed from the doll of Figures 1 and 2.
Figures 4 and 5 are front and rear perspective views respectively of a child wearing the harness assembly of Figure 3.
DETAILED DESCRIPTIO~ OF THE PREFERRED EMsoDIMENTs Figure 1 shows a doll generally indicated at 1.

The harness assembly as best shown in Figure 3 of the drawings comprises a torso encircling band or belt 12 having a front reinforced region 13 and a rear reinforced region 14. Band 12 is adjustable to different girth sizes through the provision of adjustable buckle 15.
A pair of shoulder straps 16 are secured to the front and rear reinforced portions of the band 12. These shoulder straps generally do not need a size adjustment feature although it can be provided.
Removably secured to the rearward part of the belt is a wing arrangement comprising a pair of wings 17 flexibly secured to a wing joining member 19. In the particu]ar arrangement shown the forward face of wing joining member 19 has a VELCROTM surface which matches with a corresponding VELCRO surface to the rear of the reinforced region 14 at the back of band 12. Accordingly, piece lg on the wings is not only a wing joining member but additionally is a securing member for removably securing the wings to the harness.
As again will be appreciated, different shapes and sizes of wings can easily be attached to the back of the harness. Furthermore, different types of attachments other than specifically wings can also be attached to the back of the harness. -The harness assembly either w:ith or without the wings is easily fitted to the doll. The band 12 is fitted down over the doll~s head and the shoulder straps are fitted to the shoulder area of the arms on the doll. The flexibility of both the doll and the harness allow the harness to be fitted in position without even having to open the band. The downward travel of the harness along the toy is limited by virtue of the shoulder straps.
SJ- 8 17 7 /aj - . , , - 4 ~ 3. ~3 A child playing with the doll can then easily remove the harness assembly and place it on him or hersel.f as shown in Figures 4 and 5 of the drawings ie. the harness assembl.y is easily transferred from the doll to the child and then back to the doll as desired. The size of the doll is such that the harness will easily Eit to a child of, for example, 6 to 10 years of age. AS the child grows the girth of band 12 can easily be adjusted to different sizes.
Generally speaking the shoulder straps do not have to be adjusted.
In the preferred arrangement as shown the child does not have to fight with opening and closing some type of closure on the harness but rather simply slips the harness downwardly over the child~s head and fits the arms through the shoulder straps. Again the specific wing assembly can be replaced with other attachments at the back of the harness.
As will be appreciated from the above, the child is able to interact with the doll by effectively sharing the harness assembly which can be worn by either the child or the doll.
Although various preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described herein in detail, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art, that variations may be made thereto without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.
