ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE

An end of a tubular workpiece is finished with a chamfer by grinding while the workpiece is positioned in a holder and rotated about the workpiece axis and the grinder is carried by a carriage that pivots the grinder in a plane that is radial to the axis.
