Abstract

: On transmet dans le sol des impulsions sismiques réparties dans le temps de façon irrégulière (suivant un code aléatoire ou pseudo-aléatoire par exemple) et on capte par un système de réception les ondes directes et celles renvoyées par les discontinuités du sous-sol. Le spectre de fréquence des signaux émis et reçus est subdivise en plusieurs bandes et les composantes des signaux dans chacune des bandes sont réduits à des signaux élémentaires traduisant leurs changement de signe (bit de signe) et enregistrées. Or procède alors pour chaque capteur du système de réception, à une corrélation des signaux élémentaires associés respectivement aux signaux émis et reçus, à une sommations des produits de corrélation associés à chaque capteur, et l'on réalise avec les sommes obtenues, des coupes sismiques très comparables à ce que l'on obtiendrait en numérisant les signaux reçus en pleine précision, comme dans les méthodes classiques. Application à la prospection en 2D ou 3D autour d'un puits en cours de forage avec un outil de forage par exemple.
