Abstract
It is a wooden or plastic Framework to hold or support one or more existing devices better known as a Tarp Strap or Bungie Cord, in a way to store for easy access.
Description
This invention relates to holders for tarp straps, or elastic cording with end hook means. The holder keeps the tarp straps in place for easy removal when required for use. The invention also provides for a new style of organizing existing tarp straps of varying lengths and quantities. The applicant is unaware of any prior art tarp strap holders. In the past tarp straps were stored loosely and in a disarray, anywhere they would fit, thus resulting in hooks and strap portions being in a tangle.
With the tarp strap holder of this invention the tarp strap or straps would be held in a tidy organized fashior. and could be stored behind the seat in a pick-up truck or placed smartly in the trunk of a car. If at home it could be placed securely away in a small area.
The drawings which illustrate embodiments of the invention:
Figure 1 - is a front angle view of the embodiment, Figure 2 - is a left end view of this embodiment, Figure 3 - is a right end view of this embodiment, Figure 4 - is a top view of this embodiment, and Figure 5 - is a bottom view of this embodiment.
.~
n 2 2055782 The holder illustrated is comprised of plastic having a long, mainly solid rectanglur shape and narrow width 1. Below the middle of the top of the holders' interior, a long but narrow oval dual sided handle 2 is located to support holders' own weight and balance plus all tarp starps attached to it. Above the oval handle 2 the top of the holder runs horizontal but stops a short distance pass either end of the oval handle 2 below.
From here a thirty degree angle 6 is created descending downward to meet each outside end of the holder. At this point the outside end becomes rounded and follows the same pattern vertical downward creating twelve rounded outside ends 7 which may be used for either side of the holder. The completion of the sixth rounded end on either end of the holder then forms the horizontal bottom of the holder.
Between these twelve rounded outside ends 7 ten inside grooves 3 are formed which have a dual sided use.
Within the holders' mainly solid rectanglur shape 1, thirty dual sided oval holes 4 are located.
C
- 3 ~055782 Six of these dual sided oval holes 4 are found between each two of the ten opposite end inside grooves 3. These inside grooves 3 run horizontal to the horizontal center of the thirty dual sided oval holes 4. Each set of six dual sided oval holes 4 are provided a distance between each other 5 in relationship with the inside grooves 3 in order to accomadate various lengths of existing tarp starps.
This is achieved by using for example, one forty cm. tarp starp. Depending upon which side of the holder is selected, the user may first insert one of the tarp straps' hooks into either end inside groove 3, then by creating a resistance distance of five cm. upon the tarp starp, the user may then insert the tarp starps' opposite hook into the last dual sided oval hole 4 at the opposite end of the starting point.
Tarp straps over fifty-three cm. are partly installed by the same method as the forty cm. tarp strap but different in the following manner. For example, one hook of a one hundred and five cm. tarp strap may be similar inserted at a given starting point but then has to circle the opposite end of the holder to its opposite side.
With a same resistance distance of five cm. the tarp straps' opposite hook may be inserted into the dual sided oval hole 4 provided.
~f D 4 20557~2 The distance found in the spacing between the dual sided grooves 3 and the dual sided oval holes 4 takes in three factors:
a. the length of the rubber tarp strap b. the length of the hooks at either end of the tarp strap c. resistance distance of five cm.
Once installed, the embodiment held by the resistance created will be secured inplace, away from neighbouring tarp straps and ready for the next use."
