Abstract
This invention relates to a badminton racket and in particular to one which includes a head, a sleeve having a longitudinal conical hole and a protuberance in an inner side thereof, a tubular shaft having a conical enlarged member at an intermediate portion and a cross slit at an end thereof, a conical plug force-fitted into the cross slit of the tubular shaft, and a handle having a hole for receiving the lower end of the tubular shaft and a recess adapted to receive the protuberance of the sleeve.

TITLE: A BADMINTON RACKET
This invention relates to an improved badminton racket.
A detailed description of the preferred embodiment and of the prior art is provided herein below, with reference to the drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a sectional front view of a badminton racket according to the present invention;
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the badminton racket;
FIG. 3 is a sectional side view of the badminton racket;
FIG. 4 is a sectional view of a prior art badminton racket; and FIG. 5 is a sectional view of another prior art badminton racket.
It is found that the conventional badminton racket is integrally made into one piece. However, the vibration produced by hitting the badminton is directly transmitted to the handle thereby hurting the user.
Hence, a badminton racket as shown in FIG. 5 is designed and developed to obviate the drawback. Nevertheless, such kind of badminton racket is easily broken at the joint between the handle and the shaft thus making it unsatisfactory in use.
Therefore, it is an object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which may obviate and mitigate the above-mentioned drawbacks.

This invention relates to an improved badminton racket.

FIG. 1 is a sectional front view of a badminton racket according to the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a sectional side view of the badminton racket;
FIG. 4 is a sectional view of a prior art badminton racket; and FIG. 5 is a sectional view of another prior art badminton racket.
It is found that the conventional badminton racket is integrally made into one piece. However, the vibration produced by hitting the badminton is directly transmitted to the handle thereby hurting the user.
Hence, a badminton racket as shown in FIG. 5 is designed and developed to obviate the drawback. Nevertheless, such kind of badminton racket is easily broken at the joint between the handle and the shaft thus making it unsatisfactory in use.
Therefore, it is an object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which may obviate and mitigate the above-mentioned drawbacks.

It is another object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which is sturdy in construction.
It is still another object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which is economic to produce.
It is still another object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which may prevent the shaft detaching from the handle thereby ensuring safety.
It is a further object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which is fit for mass production.
An aspect of the invention is as follows:
A badminton racket comprising:
a head;
a sleeve having a longitudinal conical hole and a protuberance in an inner side thereof;
tubular shaft having a conical enlarged member at an intermediate portion and a cross slit at an end thereof, said tubular shaft being connected with said head at the other end;
a conical plug force-fitted into the cross slit of said tubular shaft; and ",.~, 20499l 1 a handle having a hole for receiving the lower end of said tubular shaft and a recess adapted to receive the protuberance of said sleeve, said handle being inserted into the conical hole of said tubular shaft at the front end and put on to the lower end of said tubular shaft with the recess of said handle engaged with the protuberance of said sleeve.
For purpose to promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, reference will be made to embodiment illustrated in the drawings. Specific language will be used to describe same. It will, nevertheless, be understood that no limitation of the scope of the invention is thereby intended, such alternations and further modifications to the illustrated device, and such further applications of the principles of the invention as illustrated herein being contemplated as would normally occur to one skilled in the art to which the invention relates.
With reference to the drawings and in particular to FIG. 1 thereof, the badminton racket according to the present invention mainly comprises a frame 1, a sleeve 2, a handle 3 and a conical plug 4. The frame 1 is composed of a head 11 and a shaft 12.
As shown in FIG. 2, the head 11 has the same structure as the prior art while the shaft 12 is a tubular ,~
20~311 member with a conical enlarged member 121 at the intermediate portion and a cross slit 122 at the end. The sleeve 2 has a longitudinal conical hole 22 and put on to the end of the shaft 12. ~urther, the oor~ l hOIr:! 21 of the sleeve 2 is formed with a protuberance 22 in the inner side. The handle 3 which is provided with a recess 31 adapted to receive the protuberance 22 is engaged with the sleeve 2. In addition, the handle 3 has a hole 32 for receiving the end of the shaft 12. The plug 4 is force-fitted into the hole 123 of the shaft 12.
In assembly, the sleeve 2 is first put on to the end of the shaft 12 and the plug 4 is inserted into the hole 123 of the shaft 12. As the plug 4 has a larger diameter at the lower portion, it is impossible for the plug 4 to be completely inserted into the hole 123. Then, the shaft 12 is polished with adhesive agent at the portion below the enlarged member 121. Thereafter, the handle 3 is pushed so that the front end of the handle 3 is inserted into the conical hole 21 of the sleeve 2 and put on to the lower end of the shaft 12 and the protuberance 22 of the ~ ~ 4 ~
sleeve 2 is engaged with the recess 31 of the handIe 3.
Finally, move the shaft 12 downwardly against the handle 3 so as to force the plug 4 to go further into the cross slit 122 of the shaft 12 ~ ret)y makirlg firmer the engagement of the shaft and the handle and therefore, reinforcing the strength of the racket.
Although the present i,nvention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is understood that the present disclosure is made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detail of construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
It is another object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which is sturdy in construction.
It is still another object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which is economic to produce.
It is still another object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which may prevent the shaft detaching from the handle thereby ensuring safety.
It is a further object of an aspect of the present invention to provide a badminton racket which is fit for mass production.
An aspect of the invention is as follows:
A badminton racket comprising:
a head;
a sleeve having a longitudinal conical hole and a protuberance in an inner side thereof;
tubular shaft having a conical enlarged member at an intermediate portion and a cross slit at an end thereof, said tubular shaft being connected with said head at the other end;
a conical plug force-fitted into the cross slit of said tubular shaft; and ",.~, 20499l 1 a handle having a hole for receiving the lower end of said tubular shaft and a recess adapted to receive the protuberance of said sleeve, said handle being inserted into the conical hole of said tubular shaft at the front end and put on to the lower end of said tubular shaft with the recess of said handle engaged with the protuberance of said sleeve.

With reference to the drawings and in particular to FIG. 1 thereof, the badminton racket according to the present invention mainly comprises a frame 1, a sleeve 2, a handle 3 and a conical plug 4. The frame 1 is composed of a head 11 and a shaft 12.
As shown in FIG. 2, the head 11 has the same structure as the prior art while the shaft 12 is a tubular ,~
20~311 member with a conical enlarged member 121 at the intermediate portion and a cross slit 122 at the end. The sleeve 2 has a longitudinal conical hole 22 and put on to the end of the shaft 12. ~urther, the oor~ l hOIr:! 21 of the sleeve 2 is formed with a protuberance 22 in the inner side. The handle 3 which is provided with a recess 31 adapted to receive the protuberance 22 is engaged with the sleeve 2. In addition, the handle 3 has a hole 32 for receiving the end of the shaft 12. The plug 4 is force-fitted into the hole 123 of the shaft 12.
In assembly, the sleeve 2 is first put on to the end of the shaft 12 and the plug 4 is inserted into the hole 123 of the shaft 12. As the plug 4 has a larger diameter at the lower portion, it is impossible for the plug 4 to be completely inserted into the hole 123. Then, the shaft 12 is polished with adhesive agent at the portion below the enlarged member 121. Thereafter, the handle 3 is pushed so that the front end of the handle 3 is inserted into the conical hole 21 of the sleeve 2 and put on to the lower end of the shaft 12 and the protuberance 22 of the ~ ~ 4 ~
sleeve 2 is engaged with the recess 31 of the handIe 3.
Finally, move the shaft 12 downwardly against the handle 3 so as to force the plug 4 to go further into the cross slit 122 of the shaft 12 ~ ret)y makirlg firmer the engagement of the shaft and the handle and therefore, reinforcing the strength of the racket.

Claims
1. A badminton racket comprising:
a head;
a sleeve having longitudinal conical hole and a protuberance in an inner side thereof;
a tubular shaft having a conical enlarged member at an intermediate portion and a cross slit at an end thereof, said tubular shaft being connected with said head at the other end;
a conical plug force-fitted into the cross slit of said tubular shaft; and a handle having a hole for receiving the lower end of said tubular shaft and a recess adapted to receive the protuberance of said sleeve, said handle being inserted into the conical hole of said tubular shaft at the front end and put on to the lower end of said tubular shaft with the recess of said handle engaged with the protuberance of said sleeve.
