Abstract

A sample should be available by January or February. At this time an article or correspondence from our dentist supporting the necessity for such an instrument will most probably be available.
AN ABSTRACT
THIS MANUALLY OPERABLE DENTAL EXTRACTOR IS NEW IN SENSE OF BEING FUNCTIONALLY
SMALL ENOUGH TO ASSIST IN CLEAN UP (MOST VITAL CLEAN UP OPERATIONS) IN THE
EVENT OF A COMPLICATED EXTRACTION INVOLVING NOT ONLY A BROKEN CROWN BUT THE
POSSIBILITY OF SPLINTERED TOOTH AND BONE LEADING TO TINY SOMETIMES UNDISCOVERED
PARTICLES BEING TRAPPED IN THE GUM. THE ACCOMPANYING NEEDLE SIZE PROBE AND
ONE EDGE CUTTING (EXTRA SMALL BLADE WIDTH FOR TINY AREAS) KNIFE MIGHT ASSIST
IN SUCH OPERATIONS IF THEY ARE NECESSARY AFTER THE CLOSING OF THE GUM.
THE STAINLESS STILL TWEEZER FUNCTION EXTRACTOR WOULD CONSIST OF THE WIDTH OF
A LARGE DARNING NEEDLE (THROUGH POSSIBLY A THICKER SIZE COULD BE USEFUL IN LESS
DELICATE OPERATIONS). THE LENGTH OF THE EXTRACTOR END OF THE EXTRACTOR MIGHT
VARY AS WELL AS THE HANDLES. THE HANDLES MIGHT BE RUBBER COATED FOR BETTER
GRIPPING AND WHERE POSSIBLE THE EXTRACTOR TIPS WHICH GRIP THE TOOTH PARTICLE
MIGHT BE COVERED BY DISPOSEABLE TINY TIPS OF ADHESIVE COTTON TO INSURE TRACTION.

THIS EXTRACTOR HAS A TWEEZER FUNCTION AND IS THUS MANUALLY OPERABLE BUT IS
SMALL ENOUGH COMING IN SEVERAL POTENTIAL SIZES. THE MOST PRACTICAL SIZE IS ILLUST
ILLUSTRATED BELOW. THE WIDTHES OF THE EXTRACTOR SECTION VARIES FROM THE
MOST PRACTICAL.

Claims (2)

1/ THE INVENTOR CLAIMS THAT HE IS THE FIRST TO PROPOSE THIS NECESSARY AS
TINIER THAN EXISTENT DENTAL INSTRUMENTS AND THAT IT IS AN ULTIMATELY
NECESSARY TINIER THAN EXISTENT MANUALLY OPERABLE DENTAL EXTRACTORS FOR
PURPOSES OF EXTRACTING TINY BROKEN BITS OF TOOTH AND OR SOMETIMES BONE
SPLINTERS WHICH HAVE BECOME LOOSENED OR DISPLACED. SOMETIMES A BONE
SPLINTER FROM A BROKEN BONE AND A FAILED ATTEMPT AT EXTRACTION MIGHT
SURROUND A TOOTH WHICH IS ONLY LATER EXTRACTED, THIS LEAVES A TINY BONE
NEEDING TO BE CUT FROM THE LARGER BONE AND EXTRACTED. REGULAR SIZE
EXTRACTORS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR THIS. THE TINYNEEDLE PROBE MIGHT BE
NECESSARY IN AIDING THE DENTIST TO FIND THE TINY BROKEN PARTICLE OF TOOTH
IN THE USUAL FUNCTION OF THIS EXTRACTOR TO CLEAN UP TINY TOOTH AND BONE
PARTICLES IN CASE OF A COMPLICATED FRACTURE WHICH INVOLVED TOOTH & OR
BONE SPLINTERING SHATTERING ETC.
2/ NOT ONLY ISN'T THERE A SIMILIARLY TINY ENOUGH INSTRUMENT FOR THIS SOMETIMES
NECESSARY OPERATION WHERE THE PATIENT HAS NOT BEEN PUNCTUAL IN HAVING HIS
DENTAL NEEDS ATTENDED TO BUT THE MANUALLY OPERABLE EXTRACTOR ON A TWEEZER
OR PLIER FUNCTION (MOST PROBABLY THE TWEEZER FUNCTION WILL PROVE MOST
PRACTICAL) BUT THESE INSTRUMENTS EXTRACTOR KNIFE AND PROBE ARE ESSENTIAL
BEFORE A DENTIST CAN REASSURE HIS PATIENT THAT THE GUM IS ABSOLUTELY
CLEAN OF ANY REMNANT PARTICLES IN CASE OF A SHATTERED TOOTH. THESE BITS OF
BROKEN TOOTH PARTICLE OR BONE ARE NOT THAT UNCOMMON TO HAVE BECOME CLOSED
IN UNDER THE GUM WHERE ONLY THE PATIENT CAN REMEMBER FEELING INDESCRIBEABLY
SOMETHING STILL THERE AFTER A MESSY EXTRACTION. WE HOPE TO MANUFACTURE
THESE NECESSARY INSTRUMENTS AS CHEAPLY AS POSSIBLE THAT THEY MIGHT BE
AVAILABLE FOR ANY SUCH EMERGENCIES.

THE HAND GRIP SECTION OF THE EXTRACTOR KNIFE AND NEEDLE SIZE PROBE MIGHT
BE CONVENIENTLY COVERED IN GRIPPEABLE TACTILE RUBBER. OR OTHER SUITABLE
TEXTILE FABRIC.
