Abstract
Device to control the water-thightness of a cable network with a metallic or partly metallic sheath. This device includes a central unit of measure (UC) connected to bay units (UBo1, UB2) controlling the entire cable network (C1, C2) to which they are connected via terminals (B1, B2) comprising means to cut off the earth, at the head of the network, of all the cables (C1, C2) and means to measure the isolation resistance in relation to the earth of all the cables, combined with means to compare this resistance with an adjustable standard resistance, and means to measure the electrochemical couple generated by a water-tightness fault, connected to an alarm system. The bay unit (UBo1) of the head of the network can be combined with at least one bay unit (Ube1) at the furthest end of the cable or all the cables (C1) and comprising means to pick-up and analyse a signal given off by the original bay unit (UBo1) and carried by the sheath or the metallic part of the cable or all the cables (C1), as well as means to control and carry out the disconnection of the earth at the furthest end of the network, of the cable or all the cables (C1).
