A system for the prevention of fire, water or (flue) gas and the like from propagating along cables, which system.is provided with a safety chute which can be mounted along the cables and with at least one sealing body substantially made of a fire-resisting material, which sealing body can be detachably installed slung at least a part of the inner wall of the safety chute.
