Abstract

ABSTRACT
The invention relates to an apparatus for continuous impregnation of granular products by spraying.
The apparatus is characterised in that it comprises a sheath or conduit with its axis vertical, open at its lower end (1) and having at its upper part an inlet orifice (2) for granular products to be impregnated, a chicane arrangement (3 to 5) disposed inside the conduit below the said orifice (2) and arranged to constrain the said products so as to flow out under gravity in a vertical tubular column (N) in the interior of the conduit (1), and a plurality of injectors (6) fixed to the wall of the conduit, directed towards its centre and able to project in the form of a mist a liquid or slightly pasty product for treatment or addition to the granular product.
Optionally, a tubular guide (9) is fitted in the conduit to shape the column and prevent the spray form the jets crossing the conduit.
A particular application is to the impregnation of granulation chemical fertilisiers.
