ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A shipping container for lightweight articles such as blow molded plastic bottles includes a skeletal metal frame and plastic panels defining an open topped structure, a pair of doors in one side hingedly connected to the top of the frame, latches for normally holding the doors closed, brackets for interconnecting a plurality of containers end-to-end and a plurality of webs extending longitudinally and transversely of the container at different levels for distributing the load in the container to reduce or eliminate crushing of the lowermost articles by superjacent articles.
