ABSTRACT
FISH HOOK SET IS AN APPARATUS THAT IS INSTALLED ON
THE STEM OF A FISHING ROD IMMEDIATLY FOWARD OF THE HANDLE
AND REELING DEVICE. FISHING LINE FROM REEL IS THREADED
THROUGH A TUBE WITHIN THE APPARATUS FROM BACK TO FRONT.
THE APPARATUS ALSO CONTAINS A SPRING LOADED ARM WITH A
LINE GUIDE AT THE END OF THAT ARM. THE FISHING LINE IS THREADED
THROUGH THE LINE GUIDE AT THE END OF THE ARM, THIS CAUSES
THE SPRING LOADED ARM AND FISHING LINE TO BE AT A DIFFERENT RENT
ANGLE TO THE STEM OF THE ROD AND OTHER LINE GUIDES THAT
MAY BE ON THE ROD.
A FISH JERKING ON THE FISHING LINE, MOVES THE ARM FROM
RIGHT TO LEFT ALONG A HORIZONTAL LIP UNTIL THE ARM IS NO LONGER
SUPPORTED, AND WITH THE ARM BEING SPRING LOADED, LIKE A MOUSE
TRAP, THE ARM FALLS AT INCREDABLE SPEED IN A DOWNWARD
MOTION, PULLING LINE AND HOOK IN A REVERSE ACTION
THERE BY SETTING THE HOOK IN THE FISH.
FISH HOOK SET IS AN APPARATUS THAT IS INSTALLED ON

Claims
"CLAIMS" Page 7 CLAIM I
Apparatus for use in association with a fishing rod having an elongated stem and a fishing line, and wherein said elongated stem has a longitudinal axis, said apparatus including attachment means for securing said apparatus to said stem, an arm having a first end and a second end, said first end being pivotally secured to said apparatus, said second end including guide means for said fishing line, said arm being adapted to pivot about said first end in relation to said apparatus between a first position wherein said second end is slightly offset in relation to said longitudinal axis and a second position wherein said second end is offset a greater distance from said longitudinal axis than in said first position spring means urging said arm to pivot from said first position to said second position, and a yieldable holding mechanism adapted to yieldably hold said arm in said first position,whereby tension of the fishing line along said longitudinal axis will urge said arm to disengage from said yieldable holding mechanism and to pivot under the influence of said spring means to said second position.
The structure of claim I wherein said fishing, line being pulled on causes said line to straighten becoming the shortest distance from point "A" being the line feed tube within present invention and point "B" being the first line guide on any fishing rod that the invention may be attached to; the spring loaded arm that is between a first point and a second point and being on a different angle is also urged to straighten thus causing arm to move along holding mechanism until it goes off the edge, causing the spring means to snap open at incredible speed to its relaxed position.
The structure of claim 2 wherin the. snap open action causes a backward jerk on the said fishing line and thus immitates the action that would occur if a person were to pull backward to set a hook.
