Abstract
Abstract In a device for catching game fish, it is known to use a trolling or strip casting device in the form of a spoon-like body comprised of a reflective material. The object of the lure is to simulate the movement of a bait fish in the water.
This invention relates to a fish lure to be used in conjunction with a lead line and a fish attractor or flasher.
It is common in devices for attracting fish to use a small, generally spoon-shaped body with a bend in the posterior end to cause the body to move irregularly in the water to simulate the movement of a bait fish. The ability of this type of device to reflect light, and therefore attract fish, is dependent on the material of which it is composed and the way it moves through the water.

device can be manufactured in ~ ~umber of sizes. The ~ront end of the device is a rounded point with diverginy edges 1 and 2. The edges 1 and 2 reach their wide~t point of divergeDce at a point approximately four fifths down the length of the device, a which point they begin to converge in an arG meeting at the rear end of the device.
As can be best seen by Figure 2, the device ha~ a ridge 1/8" high down the longitudinal axis of the device 3.
Tbe sides on each side of the ridge 4 and 5 slope slightly downward in an arc from the front end o the device, through which d ring is fixed 6 through a hole 7 in ~he front center of the device. A hook is attached to the ring 7. There are two holes 8 and 9 one on each side of the h~rizontal axis 1j2" from the fron end~ A ring is attached through these holes 10, to which the line device is at achedO
The device is arced from the front end to 5/8l' from the rear end, at which point the device bends upwards at a~
angle of approximately 25C~
Development of this invention was oommenced by myself during the 1979 ~ommercial fishing season and was completed

Claims (3)
1. A lure for use in conjunction with a flasher to catch fish, such lure comprising:
a spoonlike base member of 20 gauge chrome plated brass sheeting, said base member having non-parallel, curved sides being connected by a wider rounded front end and a narrow, rounded back end, the length of the member being divided by a crease along the longitudinal axis forming a V-shaped dish, the length of the member being bent in a V-shaped manner to form a spoonlike body, with the back end of the member having a crease along the width of the body such that the tail end is bent upwards away from the rest of the body, and the said base member having two holes one on each side of the horizontal axis half inch from the front end, a ring is attached through these holes to which a line device is attached.
a spoonlike base member of 20 gauge chrome plated brass sheeting, said base member having non-parallel, curved sides being connected by a wider rounded front end and a narrow, rounded back end, the length of the member being divided by a crease along the longitudinal axis forming a V-shaped dish, the length of the member being bent in a V-shaped manner to form a spoonlike body, with the back end of the member having a crease along the width of the body such that the tail end is bent upwards away from the rest of the body, and the said base member having two holes one on each side of the horizontal axis half inch from the front end, a ring is attached through these holes to which a line device is attached.
2. A lure as in claim 1 wherein a reflective portion has a smooth reflective surface bent at various angles to provide for sporadic movement through the water.
3. A lure as in claim 1 wherein the spoonlike base member is moulded of a mixture of lead and babbit painted in various colours or chromed, making the said lure heavier for strip casting, jigging, and trolling.
