Abstract
ABSTRACT
A corner construction as used for furniture, display fixtures, and the like, comprising lateral frame, vertical frames, convertible joints. Its property is to apply lateral tube with L type slots at both ends. Its width is equal to the thickness of the vertical tube.
On the upper part of the vertical tube transversial slots are made the thickness of which is exactly the same with that of lateral tube and above mentioned lateral tube can be docked together in sound basis and then last of all through putting connecting Joint into them to make the connection even more firm basis. And this connecting joint also can offer connecting chance for another relay necessity.

Description
CORNER CONSTRUCTION
Thls lnvention relates in general to ~oint structures and, more particularly, to a corner construction.
It is an obJect of the present invention to 5 provide a corner construction especially suitable for utillzation with furnitureg display flxtures, storage equlpment, and the like~ which integrates in a novel, yet highly st~ble fashion, structural or frame-forming components of the article in question.
It is another ob~ect of the present inventlon to provide a corner const:ruction of the character states which especially suitable for formation ~rom tubular components, permitting of ease of assembly into a stable Joint which is resistant to disassembly 15 in use; but which may be intentionally disassembled in a faclle, rapld manner.
It is a further ob~ect of the present inventlon to provide a corner con~truction o~ the charac~er stated which allows ~or a unique integration o~
20 8tructural component3 o~ the particular artlole without requiring the services of skilled personnel and which obviates the necessity for complex tools for assembly; as a simple and conventlonal tool is sufflcient.
It ls a still further obJect to the present inventlon to provide a corner construction as lndicated above, which is most durable and reliable in usage;
which is economlcal in production~ and whlch is of marked versatility in utllization. Another property 30 of this invention is no screw is necessary in any connection of those tubes.
The invention will now be descrlbed by way of example with reference to the accompanylng drawlng ln which:-9~
Figure 1 shows a perspective vlew of a tableincorporating a corner construction constructed ln accordance with and embodylng the present invention.
Flgure 2 shows a perspectlve exploded view of the components of the corner of the present inventlon.
Flgure 3 shows a connector which will be assembled in khose facilitles shown on Flgure 2.

Figure 5 shows the connection position. If upper part no longer connect vertical tubes, the ~hocklng ~oint should be used as the illustration.
Figure 6 shows that whenever encounter T type connection, the docking should be conducted a~
lllustrated.
Figure 7 shows a connector for a joint as in Figure 6.
Figure 8 ~hows a rear view ~ the joint.
In the ~igures like references denote like parts.
A designates a table which is set Yorth for exemplary purposes only, being but one Or myrlad structures with which the present lnventlon may be utillzed.
Figure 1 shows one of the examples Joint connectlon invented. through outer or external view, via vertlcal tube 19 square tube 2 and table top 4.
Through ~oint connection of all parts mentioned above~
corner construction ls made. Figure 2 shows that cublc section of the connection especlally corner o~
the Figure 1 the property of the invention is that in each recess no matter if its lateral or transversial tube 2 & 3 and 1, one the edge o~ the tube 1OJ 20, 309 9;~:
on their recess edge 13, 21, 313 through sawing or cutting methods, establish a suitable slots 11, their wldth and depth should be suitable for the connection purposes, and also recess of a, 11, b, L type which 5 are numbered as 22 and 32 on each vertical tube 1 body 10, connecting parts of both recess edge with degree of 90 establish saw type recess lla and llb, and on the edge of saw type recess lla and llb opening 12 is made. Its thickness is tube thickness ~ table top 4 10 thickness so that after those lateral tube 2 are connected, then table top 4 i8 going to be rixed. In this case~ each corner of the board may not be cut off and on the contrary be inserted into the body of the tube 10, one fourth 50 that the boards can be easlly 15 flxed.
On the lateral tube body 2, in each tube body's 20 recess edge 21 on any side either upper or lower side, saw type recess 22, no other opening or embossing is necessary. Connecting ~oint 5, and chocking ~oint 20 6, please refer figure 3, 4 and 5, basically composed of a ~oint 51 with corrugated surface 54 extended downward through Joint 53c, its shape is similar to that of 52 and on C on its similar to 52 side, establish a 90 degree openlng 55 so that wh:lle assemblying with 25 board the section of its corner may be avoided. As illustrated in Figure 5, the constructlon of chocking Joint 6 basically similar to that o~ connecting ~oint 5, establish platform 60 and no ~oint with corrugated surfaces are establlshed. On C type tube 61 to cope 30 with the assembly position of lateral tube 2~ 3, prepare recess of 62 and 63.
The sidth of the recess lla and llb o~ the vertical tube, should be same with the thickness of lateral tube material. The L typed recess 22 and 32 of the lateral tube 23 3, their thlckness should be the same wlth the thickness of the vertical material of the vertical tube. Thus the connecting effectiveness may be better.
While assemblying each part of the invention~ all the things we have to do is that to pu-t recess edge 2 of the lateral tube 2 is L typed recess 22 and 32 into saw typed recess of lla and llb of the vertical tube 1, and rlx table top 4 or other similar board and then connecting 10 ~olnt 5 should be inserted from vertical direction i.e.
from upper direction of the vertical tube 1, to be inserted into vertical tube exactly. Thu~ each lateral tube 2 and 3 can be well fixed with those vertical tubes 1. with very correct 90 degree angle, and ~urthermoreJ through 15 applying table top 4's assembly, we can obtain even more firm connectlon that there wlll be dropping occur and through using upper ~oint of the 51, o~ the connecting ~oint 5 appropriake length of vertical tube 1 can be connected to them in case of necessity~ the height of 20 the table can be promoted. On the upper edge of the vertical tube 1 put on chocking ~oint 6 then in a short period of time, multi-layered cargo shelf can be assembled.
From the foregoing it will be readily seen that the corner construction Or the present invention may be 25 easily developed without the services of a skilled individual. Consequently, this invention is adapted for utillzation with knock-down furniture, fixtures, a~d the like. As brought out above, table is merely illustra-tive of but a single application of the present invention 30 since it is readily useful in all types of furniture, such as bookcases~ chairs, and the like, as well as for display and storage fixtures such as shelving, etc.
Table top may be of any desired material such as wood, glass and the llks.
If longer and sider shelves are planning to be established, the construction and assembly method with vertical tube 1 are exactly the same with above when-ever three lateral tube 23 3, 7 should be connected with 5 vertical tube 1, and forms T type, then connecting Joint 5, or chocking ~oint 53, put them on the recess of vertical tube 1 according to the dlrections of three lateral tube 2, 3, 7, and ad~ust them according to the remaining space. The body of vertical tube 10 the 10 opening o~ it 12, and C typed hole 52, and its opening 55 o~ the connecting ~oint 5. All of them should be set comparatively wider, if four lateral tubè 2 connectlng with vertical tube ln cross type, (Please re~er to Fi~ure 8) the shape of the ~ointer 53 o~ the connectin~
15 ~oint 5, according to those lateral tube 2', 3', 7~, 8' have connected with the recess o~ the vertical tube 1J and what remaining space is left over there~ and ad~ustment will be made thereafter.
Separated 4 ~oint 53 are set, and no C typed hole 20 52 is established ak the opening of the verti~al tube 10, a number of saw typed recess lla, llb, and llc are set.
No other opening is necessary. When ~able top 4~ or other board are going to be set on the cross typed recess cut those corner or make it become same shape with 25 vertical tube body lO and according to the method mentioned above, we can make vertical tubes a s~uare ones to replace these round ones.
