Abstract
ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
A system of storage drawers which is made of components adapted to interlock one another and thus be arranged in any of a plurality of different side-by-side and superposed layouts. The present stackable storage drawers system comprises a plurality of drawer carrying-case structures, storage drawers, tops and clips, with the drawer carrying-case structures being interconnected side by side as desired by the clips and superposed in interlocking engagement one over another and covered by an overlying top. Stops are also provided to maintain the drawers in retracted and open positions and yet provide for their complete removal.
A system of storage drawers which is made of components adapted to interlock one another and thus be arranged in any of a plurality of different side-by-side and superposed layouts. The present stackable storage drawers system comprises a plurality of drawer carrying-case structures, storage drawers, tops and clips, with the drawer carrying-case structures being interconnected side by side as desired by the clips and superposed in interlocking engagement one over another and covered by an overlying top. Claims (8)
1. A stackable storage drawers system comprising at least two stackable drawer carrying case structures, a row of storage drawers engaging endwise in each drawer carrying case structure, a top engaging over any top drawer carrying case structure, each drawer carrying case structure including a bottom wall and a three-sided lateral wall forming an open front and an open top and the corresponding row of drawers are slidable endwise through said open front, and the three-sided lateral wall is formed with upwardly opening sockets and the bottom of each drawer carrying case structure is formed with downward pro-jections complementarily constructed and arranged for operative engagement into the upwardly opening sockets of an underlying drawer carrying case structure.

A stackable storage drawers system as defined in claim 1, wherein there are a plurality of drawer carrying case structures positioned side by side, the three-sided lateral wall of each drawer carrying case structure defines a free top edge peripherally extending outwardly co-extensive with the planar outline of the corresponding drawer carrying case structure and operatively abuts one another side by side, and assembling clips selectively join the adjoining three-sided lateral walls.
3. A stackable storage drawers system as defined in claim 2, wherein said clips are U-shaped clips clamping engaging over the adjoining three-sided lateral walls and holding the same one against the other.
4. A stackable storage drawers system as defined in claim 3, wherein each of said three-sided lateral walls is formed with thinner portions forming recesses on the inner side thereof along the corresponding free top edge, and said clips have opposite end portions engaging in said recesses.
5. A stackable storage drawers system as defined in claim 4, wherein said recesses are arranged in predetermined spacing relation-ship along the free top edge of said lateral walls thereby allowing a selection of possible adjoining relationship between the drawer carry-ing case structures.
6. A stackable storage drawers system as defined in claim 5, wherein each top also includes downward projections complementarily constructed and arranged for operative engagement into the upwardly sockets of an underlying drawer carrying case structure.

A stackable storage drawers system as defined in claim 6, wherein each top and each drawer carrying case structure has a bottom surface with stopper lugs downwardly projecting from the corresponding bottom surface and extending along a front edge thereof, and wherein each of said drawers has an upward projection at the inner end thereof operatively abutting against one corresponding stopper lug portion up-on opening of the same drawer.
8. A stackable storage drawers system as defined in claims 1, 2 or 7, wherein each drawer has a flange depending from the rear end of the bottom of said drawer, and the bottom wall of each case structure has upstanding front and rear ribs extending substantially parallel to the front edge of said case structure and interengageable with said flange.
