Abstract

The design consists of an electric steam iron having an angular transparent water tank and rear portion, the water tank tapering from the rear towards the front of the iron. The angular water tank extends to the rear of the iron whereby the water tank has an approximately trapezoidal shape. In front view (Figure 2) the iron is built up in different areas; the front part of the approximately tongue shaped handle is clearly placed on top of the water tank; the ring around this front part of the approximately tongue shaped handle is approximately oval shaped and carries on through into the oval shaped transparent water tank portion. In rear view (Figure 3) the rear end of the iron is approximately angular pear shaped with rounded off corners on the lower part and on the upper part of the rear side. In side views (Figures 4 and 5) the base portion consisting of the lower part and the transparent water tank is approximately tri-angular shaped; the front part of the handle is approximately tri-angular arrow shaped and is placed on top of the tri-angular shaped front part of the base portion; the paunchy middle part of the handle is placed between the approximately tri-angular arrow shaped front part of the handle and the rear side of the handle that is placed on top of the rear of the base portion; the opening under the handle is approximately rectangular with smoothly rounded off corners. In top view (Figure 6) the handle is narrow in the middle and widens towards the front and rear; the drop shaped ring around the front part of the handle carries on through into the oval shaped transparent water tank portion; the overall shape of the iron is approximately bulgy. In bottom view (Figure 7) the soleplate is approximately cone shaped with a pointed top; the characteristic part of the soleplate is the extra pointed top portion and the formation of the holes and slots.Drawings of the design are included.
