Abstract
WHEEL COVER
ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
A fastening clip which is employed for releasably securing a decorative wheel ring to the outer face of a vehicle wheel has a rein-forcing rib on the reversely bent outer anchoring portion having a top and bottom section, the tip section so which moves into fixed relation with the wheel rim. The reversely bent section was found to be weak if too thin a material were employed of that the wheel cover could shimmy when supported on the wheel face. A struck-out rib in the center of the return bend and in the two sections provides rigidity to the securing top section of the clip and permits the clip to be made from a thinner material which will eliminate the shimmy effect which was found to occur.
