Abstract

The present invention relates to a volume band mechanical pulmonary ventilation control system, more particularly to a system for administering respiratory cycles to patients. Preferably, said breathing cycles are controlled by pressure, so that the patient-inspired volumes remain within a volume band, comprising a lower volume limit and another upper volume limit, which are predetermined. More specifically, the ventilation system according to the present invention allows the inspiratory volumes of pressure controlled breathing cycles to vary within a predetermined range, limiting the maximum volume and / or increasing the pressure level to maintain the received volumes. by the patient above a minimum volume, thereby preserving the pattern of natural variability observed in human respiration while ensuring administration of volumes within pre-established limits.
