Abstract

POLìMERO RESISTENTE à RADIAçãO GAMA. A presente invenção se refere à estabilização do Poli (cloreto de vinila)-PVC pela modificação química na sua estrutura. As modificações feitas foram através da reação de Barbier e redução com o Zn em meio aquoso. Esses polímeros modificados quando são submetidos a esterilização por radiação gama não sofrem degradação por cisão da cadeia, sendo esse tipo de degradação muito comum no PVC. Essa invenção do PVC modificado está direcionada a obtenção de polímeros estáveis que possam ser utilizados na confecção de materiais poliméricos como os produtos médico-hospitalares e os utilizados para o acondicionamento de materiais alimentícios, os quais precisam ser rigorosamente estéreis. Desta forma, a esterilização nesse tipo de polímero tende a conservar as propriedades do material polimérico sem comprometer a qualidade do produto.RANGE RESISTANT POLYMER. The present invention relates to the stabilization of Poly (vinyl chloride) -PVC by chemical modification in its structure. The modifications made were through Barbier reaction and reduction with Zn in aqueous medium. These modified polymers when subjected to gamma radiation sterilization do not undergo chain scission degradation, and this type of degradation is very common in PVC. This invention of modified PVC is directed to obtaining stable polymers that can be used in the manufacture of polymeric materials such as medical and hospital products used for the packaging of food materials, which must be strictly sterile. Thus, sterilization in this type of polymer tends to conserve the properties of the polymeric material without compromising product quality.
