A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para a redução da susceptibilidade de material lignocelulósico ao amarelamento indesejável, particularmente ao amarelamento causado por luz e calor. De acordo com a invenção, as fibras são ativadas enzimática ou quimicamente e depois colocadas em contato com um agente de modificação capaz de se ligar ao material de fibra oxidado, rendendo o material de fibra lignocelulósico com resistência melhorada à reversão de brilho. The present invention relates to a process for reducing the susceptibility of lignocellulosic material to undesirable yellowing, particularly to yellowing caused by light and heat. According to the invention, the fibers are enzymatically or chemically activated and then contacted with a modifying agent capable of binding to the oxidized fiber material, yielding the lignocellulosic fiber material with improved gloss reversal resistance. By means of the invention, the reversal of brightness caused by light or heat or a combination thereof may be delayed and even interrupted.
