Abstract

A presente invenção refere-se a produtos de poliestireno, tal como poliestireno de alto impacto (HIPS), que podem ser obtidos por polimerização de estireno com um polímero de dieno na presença de pelo menos um iniciador multifuncional. A presença do iniciador multifuncional tende a causar estruturas mais ramificadas no poliestireno. Unexpectedly, the ratio of% gel to% rubber (G / R or rubber phase volume) increases as the swelling rate increases which is the opposite of the conventional trend. Additionally, acceptable G / R values can be achieved at increased polymerization ratios with these primers.
