Abstract

"ELETROCATALISADORES CONTENDO NANOPARTìCULAS METáLICAS A BASE DE PLATINA-ESTANHO SUPORTADAS EM CARBONO PARA USO COMO áNODO NA OXIDAçãO DIRETA DE áLCOOIS EM CéLULAS A COMBUSTìVEL COM MEMBRANA TROCADORA DE PRóTONS". BASED NANOParticles FOR USE AS A Node FOR DIRECT OXIDATION OF ALCOHOLS WITH A PRONTON EXCHANGE MEMBRANE". The present invention relates to the use of platinum-tin-based metal nanoparticle electrocatalysts and further containing one or more elements (Ti, Zr, V, Nb, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Re, Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Cu, Ag, Au, Zn, Ga, Bi, U and lanthanide series elements), supported on high surface area carbon as anode in the direct oxidation of alcohols, especially ethanol, in Proton exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) fuel cells.
