Abstract
"PROCESSO DE MANUSEIO DO RISCO DE UM IMPASSE ENTRE TRANSAçõES SIMULTâNEAS EM UMA BASE DE DADOS". OF HANDLING AN IMPASS RISK AMONG SIMULTANEOUS TRANSACTIONS IN A DATABASE". The present invention relates to a process of handling the risk of an impasse between simultaneous transactions (T1, T2) in a database (1). The process is based on the allocation of respective objects (O1, O2) in the database (1), a locking queue (L1, L2) in which the transactions (T1, T2, T3, ... T8) that request access to an object (O1, O2) are placed so as to wait for access to said object from a previous transaction. The handling procedure comprises the verification of the locking queues (L1) belonging to different objects (O1) to detect the so-called locking transactions (T1) that can cause an impasse and, after detection, to compare said locking transaction with other transactions (T2, T6, T1, T7, T8) in other locking queues (L2) thus allowing the risk of impasse between a first and a second transaction (T1, T2) that both requested access to the same first and second object (O1, O2) is detected. The combinations of transactions that are in progress or active in the database and which, according to said comparison, may cause an impasse are divided into combinations of locking and non-locking respectively. Only the detection of a combination lock will cause additional action to be taken.
