Trata-se de um sistema de controle e método para aparelhos ressonantes tais como Absorvedores de Vibração Sintonizados Adaptáveis (ATVAs). No aspecto do método de controle, que tem aplicabilidade além do controle de ATVA, dois sinais de entrada nos canais (39,41) são mantidos em uma relação de fase de cerca de 90 graus pela entrada de um sensor de referência (36). O sistema inclui um sensor de base (40) que provê um sinal de vibração de base, um sensor de referência (36) para prover um sinal sincronizado com a fonte de vibração, um sensor de massa (38) para prover um sinal de vibração da massa de sintonia (43) e um controlador eletrónico de preferência digital (42) para demodular os sinais com formas de onda de quadratura geradas de um gerador de forma de onda (47) para gerar um sinal de controle ao aparelho ressonante, por exemplo, um ATVA (35).
