Método e aparelho (110) para avaliar a visibilidade de diferenças entre duas seq³ências de sinais de entrada, por exemplo, seq³ências de imagens, são descritos. O aparelho compreende um gerador de métrica percentual (112), tendo uma seção de processamento de sinais de entrada (210), uma seção de processamento de luminância (220), uma seção de processamento de crominância (230) e uma seção de geração de métrica percentual (240, 250, 260).
