Após o alvejamento, líquido é removido (28, 33) da pasta enquanto se obtém um líquido residual, e pelo menos uma parte do fluxo do líquido residual obtido é transportada de volta para a corrente de pasta (22) por um conduto de transporte por meio de um dispositivo de bomba. A dita parte do fluxo do líquido residual é tratada por oxigênio (45) por suprimento de oxigênio à parte do fluxo a jusante do dispositivo da bomba.
