Abstract

"CARENAGEM FIXáVEL SOB UMA BORDA INFERIOR EXTERNA LONGITUDINAL DE UM REBOQUE, E, REBOQUE". Uma carenagem (24) fixável sob uma borda inferior longitudinal externa (30) de um reboque (10). A carenagem possui seções se estendendo para frente e para trás (28, 26). The rear section can be moved longitudinally to reliably locate its rear edge (44) in a selected position in front of the trailer wheel assembly (22). Such adjustable positioning occurs automatically if the rear section is coupled in a longitudinally movable way to the support frame (38) for the trailer wheel assembly, thus keeping the rear edge of the fairing in the selected position whenever the wheel assembly of the trailer trailer is longitudinally adjusted in relation to the trailer. An articulation mechanism (32) coupled between the trailer and the fairing allows pivoted displacement of each section of the fairing between the lowered position and the raised position. The lowered position is for transporting the trailer over long distances, in order to obtain fuel savings. The raised position is for situations in which the trailer has to be maneuvered on ramps, uneven terrain, etc. that may come into contact with the underside or otherwise interfere with the fairing.
