Description
This utility model describes a user-portable device for light radiation. More specifically, it comprises a device with a radiation source that delivers energy through contact with the skin, acting through photobiomodulation, which allows the modulation of biological reactions from the interaction of photons with organic tissues, practically canceling reflection.
Since the last century, phototherapy has been used in various modalities, with UVA or UVB irradiation. It is indicated for various types of inflammatory dermatoses with a chronic period of evolution, such as vitiligo, psoriasis, parapsoriasis, cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, chronic eczema, demonstrating good therapeutic results.
Revista Eletrônica Biociências, Biotecnologia e Saúde, v. 12, n. 24, p. 60-69, 2019.)[03] Cells use ATP (adenosine triphosphate) as a source of energy. Who provides this energy are hundreds of mitochondria that exist within each cell. These mitochondria transform glucose, primarily, or lipids, secondarily, into ATP. Mitochondria, as true “power plants”, however, need another form of energy to carry out their functions. This special energy is the photons, captured by the cytochromes (electron transfer proteins), located in the wall of the mitochondria. By subjecting cells to this specific photonic energy, photobiomodulation is promoted, allowing the modulation of biological reactions from the interaction of photons with organic tissues (STEIDEL, S.M. Phototherapy: LED and low-intensity LASER in facial rejuvenation. 2018. 18p. Monograph - Faculdade Unyleya, Florianópolis, 2018.), so that the cell is induced to its best performance, by increasing the cellular level of ATP (BORGES, Allana Santos; DOS SANTOS, Kely Cristina; MOLZ, Simone. Photobiomodulation: mechanism of action and efficacy in facial rejuvenation. Electronic Magazine Biosciences, Biotechnology and Health, v. 12, n. 24, p. 60-69, 2019.)
A radiação UVA atinge a epiderme, derme superficial e média, e o UVB atinge principalmente a epiderme.[04] Phototherapy equipment is based on the interaction of electromagnetic radiation of light with tissues, and may use UVA (400-320 nanometers (nm)), UVB (between 320-290nm) and UVC (between 290-200nm) radiation. UVA radiation reaches the epidermis, superficial and middle dermis, and UVB reaches mainly the epidermis.
Ainda, por estarem energizados por fios, fica impedida a livre locomoção do usuário durante a aplicação.[05] Low-intensity phototherapy equipment, which uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs), has wavelengths between 455nm and 630nm, and is generally used in clinics and domestic environments, connected to the power source by wires. Light radiation of this nature, applied from a distance, suffers a great reflection of energy by the surface of the skin and only a small portion of this energy is absorbed by the most superficial layers of the skin. Also, as they are powered by wires, the user's free movement during application is prevented.
2018. Disponível em: https://repositorio.ufsc.br/handle/123456789/189931. Acesso em 19, maio de 2021.)[06] Thus, in order to optimize the delivery of radiated energy, the object of this utility model is a user-portable device that delivers energy through contact with the skin, promoting refraction and, therefore, light penetration ( photonics) well beyond the surface of the skin. Thus, having a permanent source of emission, it is possible to create a current of photons that runs through the tissues and fluids, which are great conductors of energy, culminating in the supply of these photons to the cytochromes that, in turn, will supply them to the mitochondria. and these will have the specific energy to carry out their attributions of supplying energy to the cells (DELLAGRANA, Rodolfo André et al. Effects of photobiomodulation therapy on physiological, electromyographic and running performance parameters. 2018. Available at: https:/ /repositorio.ufsc.br/handle/123456789/189931. Accessed on May 19, 2021.)
