Abstract

Um preditor de vetor de movimento temporal é incluível, juntamente com um ou mais preditores de vetor de movimento espacial, em um conjunto de preditores de vetor de movimento para um bloco a codificar de um quadro atual. Um método de determinar o preditor de vetor de movimento temporal compreende selecionar como o preditor temporal um vetor de movimento entre vetores de movimento em um bloco de referência de um quadro de referência diferente do quadro atual. O bloco de referência é um bloco do quadro de referência colocado com o bloco a codificar ou um bloco do quadro de referência vizinho ao bloco colocado. A seleção se baseia em um critério de diversidade para obter diversidade entre os preditores do conjunto. Isso pode reduzir as exigências de memória de vetor de movimento com nenhuma penalidade ou nenhuma penalidade significativa de eficiência de codificação adicional. Alternativamente, mesmo se a memória de vetor de movimento não for reduzida em tamanho, aperfeiçoamentos em eficiência de codificação podem ser obtidas.
